It's the end of an era, folks. Randi, the developer of the popular "ZDoom" source port, has announced that he'll be ceasing development effective immediately.
ZDoom, which is one of the many so-called 'source ports' for the original Doom games, has been in a state of constant development for the past nine years. Over the years, the engine has seen a number of improvements and support for all games on the Doom engine(Hexen, Heretic, et al.)
In the same post announcing the closure of development, Randi pointed people towards GZDoom and QZDoom, both based upon Randi's own work. They are, so to speak, ports of a source ports.
The website, forum, and wiki belonging to the project will continue to be run by forum user 'Euranna'.
