The third episode of the Penny Arcade Adventures games was cancelled by Hothead, but it’s not dead yet, son. It turns out that indie developers Zeboyd Games, known for their 8-bit parody RPGs Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII (read our Daily Independents on those titles here and here), will be taking over on said third episode, reports RPGamer.

The game will take on Zeboyd’s usually old-school RPG look, and it’ll be released in 2012. The music will be done by Alex Mauer.
