Fallout 3 is a damn fine RPG; full of life, bursting with activities, quests, moral choices and excellent dialogue, it tends to encourage months worth of its own misuse. However, one thing it does not do is look particularly great. Not that it looks bad, just unremarkable, which makes sense as graphics were sacrificed somewhat to allow for the hugeness of the game overall. No harm, no foul.

But what it it could look mindblowingly good? Like next gen good? Now it can, if you’re willing to put in a hell of a lot of work. Using the ENB Series mod and lot of other tools, several people have managed to make a version of Fallout 3 that looks, frankly, astonishing, and they’re posting them to Flickr to show them off.

There are dozens of images posted, and they’re worth taking a closer look. Pay particularly close attention to comments, where explanations of how these amazing images were created can be found.
