File Description

Here is the 1968 Stardust Cruiser II, a detailed and well made house boat that will either replace the speeder or any other boat of your choice within GTA San Andreas. This houseboat also includes a large interior that you can walk around, this includes the Living Room, Bedroom, Kitchen and a Dining Room. The furnature is mainly from the other houses of GTA San Andreas but still does look good and is a highly recommended modification. There are unfortunately some bugs where the ship may slightly pass through walls.

Please note that it is highly recommended that you back up any files just in case you either do not like this modification or it messes up your computer.

              1968 Stardust Cruiser II

		    VERSION 1.0

+------------------------------------------------------+
[ ABOUT THE MOD ]

This vehicle is more of a "trailer-boat" if anything,
but within the world of boating it is classified as a
houseboat, most people think of a "house" like structure
most of the time when you say, houseboat. These boats
are the result of mass production of the 1960s, and still
are produced today.

This boat is a rebuild of my Vice City 68 Stardust
Houseboat, which was poorly made, but made at a time
when I wasn't as good. The only thing I kept from the
original was the hull. The boat is also longer than the
original, and features a living room, kitchen/dining room
and bedroom. Kitchen and Bedroom are sunken into the
boat, divided by a wall.

The interior features furniture and such from GTA
San Andreas from the default map objects. The pictures
on the walls are from my own collection, and mainly
highlight bridges and a power dam which I am building
for another mod.

This vehicle replaces the Speeder Boat, and may or
may not work replacing other boats. So far it looks
like that isn't as big of a problem as it was in VC,
I have also used the dinghy boat with this model and
it seems to work fine.

The outside design of the boat is true to its real
life partner, as my family happens to own one. The
inside is a touch redesigned, and the boat itself is
not as wide. Basic design is kept, front of the cabin
is the living room with the steering controls in the
corner, steps down into the kitchen, then its a small
hallway to the back room.

+------------------------------------------------------+
[ BUGS ]

The collision file could be a touch better, there is
a limit of 1000 verticles within the collision file, it
was created by more or less cloning the chassis model.
I selected certain faces to removed from the side of the
hull, and it would have worked if I had planned it better.

In short, the only true bug is you may "pass" through
the side walls in certain points, but it just means you
fall inside the boat. The railings on the outside are
solid, but you may go over if you run against it.

Second bug is accessing the boat, you cannot grab onto
the sides and pull yourself up onto the boat, which is
true of the boat in real life. There is of course a
swim platform on the rear, and the left hand side front
railing, where its open can be climbed into. Swim and
jump.

[ NEEDED TOOLS / PROGRAMS ]

1. GTA3MODS.COM IMG TOOL
2. Notepad

+------------------------------------------------------+
[ INSTALLATION ]

1. Start up your IMG tool and open up GTA3.IMG.

2. Rename Speeder.dff to ORG_Speeder.dff and
     Speeder.txd to ORG_Speeder.txd

   - Or delete the files if you wish, I rename them as
     backups.

3. Import Speeder.dff & Speeder txd from this zip file,
and import them into your IMG directory.

4. Rebuild the archieve.

5. Open your Handling.CFG file located in GTA_SA/DATA
with Notepad or Wordpad. Find the handling line
for SPEEDER, replace it with one of these two
     lines.

--> HANDLING A: Unrealistic Houseboat Speed (80 to 90 mph)
SPEEDER 5000.0 200000 1.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 10 -3.50 25.0 0.40 5 190.0 3.0 5.0 R P 0.04 0.01 0 20.0 1.3 3.0 0.0 0.10 0.5 2.0 0.0 0.7 0.39 30000 8000400 0 0 1 0

--> HANDLING B: More Realistic Houseboat Speed (30 to 40 mph)
SPEEDER 5000.0 200000 1.0 0.0 0.0 0.0 10 -3.50 25.0 0.40 5 190.0 1.0 5.0 R P 0.04 0.01 0 20.0 1.3 3.0 0.0 0.10 0.5 2.0 0.0 0.7 0.39 30000 8000400 0 0 1 0

--> HANDLING C: Realistic Houseboat Speed
Didn't make one, no one wants to go 5 to 10 mph......

6. Save File, and play GTA San Andreas. Boat will spawn
in the location of the speeder boat...some spawning
points may result in the model spawning into land.

[ ABOUT DEATHSQUAD INDUSTRIES ]

I'm an Amateur GTA Modder, and I call myself that
because so many others have greater skills, but hey,
I make stuff I think is fun and let all share in my
insanity. Took some CAD classes in high school, and
have vast computers skills. I've ran and still run an
online game, non-graphical so no one would be interested
in it, unless you're a hardcore roleplayer or into text
based games. I'm a computer junky, who enjoys his
hobbit leaf and creating...things.
