File Description

This little modification refurbishes the map icons and the loading screens from the PlayStation 2 version. Both of the original ones imported on PC were compressed with DXT1 format, and unfortunately had the loss of colour during compression. Please note that ImgTool is required for this modification to function and to be installed. Also it is highly recommended that you backup any files that you will overwrite.

Description:

This little modification refurbishes the map icons and the loading
screens from the PlayStation 2 version. Both of the original ones
imported on PC were compressed with DXT1 format, and unfortunately
had the loss of colour during compression.
---

Features:

* Map icons come from PlayStation 2, which are not compressed touch
up the compressed PC images.
* Loading screens give a clear pixel shading than the loading screens
on the PC Version .TXDs are Compressed with DXT1 Compression. This makes
them into 32-Bit.

Installation:

Step 1:

Navigate to your <GTA Directory>\models folder (<GTA Directory> means that
your San Andreas folder with any name). Next, BACKUP the original HUD.TXD,
you don't know what it will do to you; finally, replace the HUD.TXD with
the new HUD.TXD from this .Zip file.

Step 2:

While in the 'models' folder, go to the 'txd' folder. Find the original
LOADSCS.TXD and BACKUP again. Get the LOADSCS.TXD from this .Zip file
and replace the original LOADSCS.TXD.

Now remember, if you don't backup, you'll fall into oblivion.

The following modification you're about to add DOES give a change. All-
though if you can't see it, if you look and compare the pixels of the
compressed textures with this modification's textures then you've come
across a difference. The author is not responsible for any disaster
that happens in the user's game. If you screw up your San Andreas then
it's your shame for not backing up the original files. Any Emails tow-
ards my address asking for any backup files will be permanently deleted.
There are NO second chances.

Also, the modification could not be done without the PS2 TXD Viewer,
version 1.2 created by Steve-M. you can contact with him by:

Steve-M's program as well should not be theft by other people. The
author only used Steve-M's program to rip textures of the PS2. No
coding was harmed during the ripping of the textures.

Diablo SV, is no way affilated to Rockstar Games or Rockstar North.
He does not work with them in any sort of way; since he is just
a fanatic of Grand Theft Auto and a modder.
