Here is a replacement for the Sabre Turbo within GTA Vice City, with a very nice 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Streetmachine Muscle Car. This car is well made and is a very good muscle car tha has been created by HarLequiN. This car may run cause preformance problems to those with slower computers as this car has a high polygon count.
Please note that it is highly recommended that you back up any files just incase, either you do not like this modification or this messes up your game.

1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Streetmachine Copyright 2004/ 2005 by HarLequiN Design Version 1.01 Work-Time: (includes building the Stock version and transforming it into a Pro Street after that) 3D Moddelling around 155 hours. Testing and calibrating around 32 hours. Polycount: 121906 Polygons (or Faces) I.) Legal Stuff: Even though my files are not locked that doesn't mean you can steel it as you wish! I have invested a large amount of time into this car (some would say far too much...) and I want it to be treated with the proper respect. That's not to mean you should build me an altar or something (well, if you want to... *g*) but DON'T STEAL IT!!!! That means every single piece of it! If you want to use something, for example the engine or the wheels, then ask me!In most cases I will give you the permission (Hey, I'm a nice guy! ;-) ) but nothing annoys a car Moddeler more than some asshole who releases his work under some other name. It's got to do with respect and pride. By the way, in most cases it becomes obvious that the stolen work is not from the one pretending and their reputation is ruined. There are several people who surf the net and control most of the gta-pages. And even years and dozens of regrets later you'll still get busted as a project thief, the gta-community is very angry in that matter! That being said: Don't steal! Ask the Original authors for permission on modifying and use their work and learn from them. And, oh yes, always give them credit! It's much better if you're respected by other moddelers, you get Help and support and not anger and hatred! Now, back to business... II.) Introduction: The Chevrolet Chevelle of the year 1968 has always been my favourite Muscle car and I would have build it much earlier, if I had the opportunities! Thank god I didn't have them because the car wouldn't have become what it is today. Now this is the Pro-Street Version. I customized the engine and parts of the bottom details. New wheels and a completely new interior, plus a lot of new (and smaller) textures have been added. That's my third scratch-car (basically just a customization of my stock Chevelle) and because of that it has a lot of things which could have been done better by a more experienced moddeler! I very much know that the polycount is insane for a gamecar! But this Chevelle wasn't done with the intention to become the ultimate gamecar. It is not! I just wanted to see how far I could go, how perfect I could build this car with my current abilities. And first of all the 155 hours I spent on moddelling this car were a great exercise! Perhaps I will never again do such a large project because I don't have the time for something as immensely time-consuming as that. But it has been a rewarding experience. I hope you have fun with the car, I surely did! This car can replace any 2seat passenger vehicle but an obvious choice would be the Sabre Turbo 'cause Rockstar has surely build this car based on a Chevelle. Also the collision file seems to fit pretty well. And of course this is the only sound fitting this kind of engine! ;) III.) How do I change a car in Vice City? That's really not as hard as it seems. It will take some minutes in the beginning but don't hesitate, you're gonna change a significant part of the game to raise the fun, so come on! You're gonna find a lot of good car-changing tutorials on most of the big gta-sites, that's why I'll save my words here. IV.) If you're not careful when "kickin' it", you'll spend much more time in the air as on the ground! This handling is more a joke 'cause the car gets mostly uncontrollable. Just for the ones who want to do it fast 'n furious in GTA with the front end lifting off the ground!... ;-) ) 1800.0 1.8 4.6 1.3 0.0 0 -0.3 70 10.5 0.8 0.5 5 500.0 650.0 R P 4.0 0.64 0 35 1.5 0.2 0.3 0.3 450000 0.15 -0.0 0.7 0.7 600183 1 1 Default ide: 249, 0.75 Carcols.dat: 0,53, 10,73, 12,63, 35,60, 40,60, 48,5, 50,14, 40,7 V.) Other Attention! Some textures are not from me but from Jack RabbitZ. I do have permission to use them of course! So don't panic if something seems familiar to you! All other Textures are either from me or from free websites. No textures are stolen! If you still think that I stole something please talk to me first before blaming me in public so I'm able to comment on the matter. You'll just make a fool of yourself otherwise! ;-) Used programs: -Zanoza Modeler V1.07b -Paint Shop Pro 7 -Adobe Photoshop 7.0 -ACDSee 5.0 -TXD Builder -Vice TXD VI.) Known bugs: - On some Computers the game doesn't run smmothly because of the large polycount and the big TXD file. Also some problems with the textures of the game can occur. If that happens I recommend that you replace a car like the Sabre Turbo that only appears once in the game. If you really need to replace a car that drives on the streets often and there still are texture problems (like trees disappearing or street and wall textures getting messy) do the following: download the "Vice City Limit adjuster", run the program and open the Vice City.exe. Change the "Streaming memory" to 128 MB. You can change it higher if you want to but everything was running perfectly well on my system with 128 MB and I have made massive modifications to my game! Save your changings and exit. VII.) THX to: -Jack RabbitZ, who gave me permission to use some of his textures and for the trick with the 8bit Texture compression -Woofi, for all of his help -P.S.: Of course THX to all who were forgotten by me due to the unholy hour I'm writing this!
