August 24, 2006 - In an interview with Eurogamer at the Leipzig Games Convention, Valve's Doug Lombardi revealed that Half-Life 2: Episode Two would release on all scheduled platforms in the first quarter of 2007. Valve had originally hoped to get the game out this holiday season, but apparently was being "overly aggressive" with its launch plans. The fact that the game is being simultaneously developed for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 could have something to do with the decision. Lombardi also confirmed that while Episode One retailed for $19.99, the extra content shipping with Episode Two would probably raise its price tag. The console versions will contain Half-Life 2, Episodes 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal, and will most likely bear full console game price. The price of the PC pack, which includes Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal, will probably fall somewhere between the console price tag and Episode One's price.
