File Description

Baraka-Doom is a massive Pillared Hall that was found deep under the mountains in the old realm of the Dwarves. Carved out of the living rock, the Dwarven Masters built the hall to stands 3 dungeon Levels High and is a whooping 800,000 square feet of Deathmatch playable area. Surrounded by interconnecting hallways, it provides large open spaces, yet has a surprising amount of coverage. Gigantic Pillars span to the ceiling with stairways rising to various dungeon exits out of the room.

The room is ideal for all types of large and small weapons. The segmented hallways and pillars make shooting ones opponent a challenge. The outer edges of the Hall are plunged into darkness, providing some sense of cover. Half of the outer hallways are in brighter Yellows while the other half are in a dark purple.

This is a good map for 4 or more people, mainly more as 4 can stay hidden from one another easily due to the size.

Lord Zogat's Baraka-Doom Killbox

Permission: I created this map myself from using the Hammer Editor and the Source SDK.
Game: Half-Life 2 Deathmatch
Filename: dm_barakadoom.bsp
Version: Alpha - Test Phase
Environment: Regular or Low Gravity

History:

Baraka-Doom was primarily made for another mapping project I am working on. I am building deathmatch dungeons from various room and hallway modules. Once all the modules are completed, they can be assembled in any order to build a dungeon. Baraka-Doom is a module that stands 3 dungeon levels high and was meant to be a central connecting module to the rest of the various layers of the dungeon. Once completed and the room was tested, I realized it could be used as its own killbox based on its size. I therefore added some components to break up the open spaces in the module.

This is a good map for 4 or more people, mainly more as 4 can stay hidden from one another easily due to the size. Known issues in the map: lights in the hallways flicker with respect to their surrounding texture faces. It is believed this is a result of the texture used on the walls. The flickering can have its advantages as it may light a darken area for an instant. The lights in this Version will be left as they are.

To play and use the map, download the zip file and extract the map to your hl2dm maps folder and load from your game console. Or place in your Server Maps folder. Please contact me if you wish to decompile or use this map for other projects.

I ask that you respect work put into this and do not issue changes to the structure or contents with out approval.
