Atlast!, at long time waiting, Garry's Mod v9.0 Has been released! Among the new features of the new release is the integration of Lua script into the game engine that allows users to easily create their own gametypes and weapons by using a script that will interact with the Half Life engine. This feature will allow aspiring mod authors to bring their visions to life through GMod and make it available to anyone just by starting a server as the script runs server side the client needs only to have GMod 9.0 installed to be able to play! Be sure to delete any old versions before installing this new one.

Garry's Mod 9 requires that the following are all installed and have been run recently.

* Half-Life 2 * Half-Life 2: Deathmatch * Counter-Strike: Source

If you get errors when starting GMod then this is most likely the problem. You should download each one from Steam and run them before trying GMod.


The first time you run a map it will take a long time to load. This is because it creates a cache file which speeds up loading later on. Sorry, load times aren't really my fault!

 Garry's Mod is a modification for Half-Life 2. Since GMod's release in 
  December 2004 the history books of modding have been continually re-written. 

 Finally, in late 2005, GMod 9.0 has been released. The history books now
  simply read "Garry Newman Is GOD". Everything else is just a footnote.

 A few people helped me throw this together, here's the SHOUT OUTZ in a

Garry's Mod is a sandbox mod for the Source Engine. Unlike normal games there aren't any predefined aims or goals. Players are given tools and are left to entertain themselves.
