File Description

The premise is that you and your group of survivors have escaped the city on a train. Unfortunately you can't make any further on rails so you and your group will have to make it to a near by refugee camp on foot. This journey takes you through sewers, underground service tunnels, a cave system, and finally on a highway to the camp. Along the way there are many hazards as well as the forces of the undead.

The objectives:

1), Find and start a generator in the service tunnels. NOTE: After objective completion everyone in the spawn will be killed. (No worries there's no fuel cans to get just push a button)

2), Find and switch the levers (turned on by that generator) that open a garage door. 3), Destroy a cave-in with explosive barrels. 4), Wait 2 minutes for the refugees to open the doors to the camp. 5), Enter the refugee camp to win (25% of the living survivors are needed to complete).

There are about 17 traps in this map and if the Zombie Master is talented and the humans are not he probably could beat the humans with just the traps. One trap that the author especially proud of is the end game trap where the survivors have to wait for the refugee camp door to open, the Zombie Master can trigger a trap to make it so the survivors have to wait an extra 30 seconds. There is a break down of all the traps in the readme below.

Train Escape Beta 3

Installation instructions:

-Extract the RAR into the zombie_master/maps folder

------------------------------------------------------------

Background: Congratulations! You and your squad of survivors have escaped the city on a speeding subway train. The bad news though is that it seems that your train can not make it any further. You and your band of survivors will have to make your way to a near by refugee camp on foot.

Human Objectives:
1) Find and start a generator in the service tunnels. NOTE: After objective completion everyone in the spawn will be killed.
2) Find and switch the levers (turned on by that generator) that open a garage door.
3) Destroy a cave-in with explosive barrels.
4) Wait 2 minutes for the refugees to open the doors to the camp.
5) Enter the refugee camp to win (25% of the living survivors are needed to complete).

ZM Objectives:
-You already have failed to kill these survivors once. Don’t make the same mistake twice!
-Don’t let the survivors out of your sight! Use every opportunity to slow them down.

------------------------------------------------------------

Traps in order of appearance:

Ceiling trap: Before the entrance into the service tunnels the Zombie Master can activate a trap which causes part of the ceiling to collapse in on the survivors. What comes down through the ceiling? Try it and find out.

Oil Drum: In the service tunnel’s garage there is a open container in which there are several boxes of ammo and supplies for the survivors along with several explosive barrels. This trap causes one of the barrels to explode probably killing all survivors in the container. Watch out though if the survivors remove the drum from the container the Zombie Master’s influence over the drum will fade.

Generator Room Door: After the survivors turn on the generator the Zombie Master can active a trap that causes the entrance to that room to close, trapping the survivors inside for 30 seconds. During which time the Zombie Master can spawn zombies in the room, forcing an encounter with the survivors and zombies.

Banshee Spawn: In the service tunnel’s garage on the ceiling is a grate. The Zombie Master can force this grate open and activate a Banshee spawn so he/she can drop Banshees down on the unsuspecting humans below.

Zombie Spawn: In the service tunnel’s garage the Zombie master can activate a new spawn out of one of the garage’s entrances.

Destroy Boxes: There are two box traps in the service tunnel’s garage these traps destroy the top most boxes so that the survivors can’t climb the boxes to escape to safety.

Destroy a Blockade: In the cave system before the cave in that the survivors have to destroy there is a blockade of wood. This trap allows the Zombie Master to clear the blockade out of the way of his/her horde of undead.

Oil Drums in the Hillside: Along a cliff collapse there are 4 oil drums hidden in the dirt that are partially visible. These 4 traps can be used by the Zombie Master to destroy each drum individually causing havoc to any survivor that passes.

Starting Fire with Propane: Along the highway shortly before the refugee camp there is a truck that still holds some propane canisters in it. The Zombie Master can cause these canisters to explode lighting the nearby debris pile on fire.

Using Survivor Traps Against Them: At the barricade before the refugee camp there is a fire trap similar to the one used in HL2 in the town of Ravenholm. Since it is on the camp side of the barricade the survivors can’t use it until they get in. While waiting for the door to open the Zombie master can turn on and trip this trap using it against the survivors. This trap consists of two actual traps, one to turn on the propane and the other to ignite it. Once the propane is on it can be either ignited by a stray bullet or the igniter. NOTE: Once the propane is on a 20 second timer will start if the fire is not started in 20 seconds the propane will automatically shut off. If the fire is started it will only burn fore 20 seconds.

Break the Door: The last in final trap causes the door for the refugee camp to break for a short period of time (aprox. 30 seconds). Once used when the door opens it will break part of the way through and have the survivors wait another 30 seconds for it to be fixed.

Changelog:

Beta 3:

-Ammo spawning problem fixed.
-Trigger_push added near the car trap so that it does not block the entrance to the service tunnels.
-Removed one spawn from the sewers (One closer to the service tunnels).
-Edited several zombie spawns to restrict spawning of hulks.
-The trap door for the generator room was reduced from 30 seconds to 15.
-The spawn in the generator room can now only spawn shamblers.
-The rock wall that the survivors have to climb at the end of the cave system is now reversed to for easier climbing.
-Ammo added to many parts of the level including but not limited to the service tunnel garage, service tunnels before the cave entrance, and the highway.
-Flammable fuel cans added to the cave system to help with rapid zombie spamming.
-The spawn after the cave in activation time has been increased from 15 seconds after the charges are set to 20. This gives the ZM about 2-5 seconds to spawn hordes of zombies.

Beta 2:

-Time elapsed clock added.
-New spawn in the service tunnels added.
-Removal of fence after caves.
