File Description

The first in a series of HL2 videos has been released through Steam. This one shows the portion of the Half-life 2 E3 presentation centered on the G-Man. Old news right? Well this is in crystal clear quality and at a whopping 1024x768 resolution. It's encoded in the bink format and doesn't require any extra codecs or tools, they're all self-contained which is why it's an .exe file instead of the usual .avi or .mpg. So don't worry, nothin' nasty will be making an appearance on your computer from this .exe. :p

The movie also removes all the extraneous talking and pauses that were in the E3 video, focusing only on showing the level of detail in the G-Man's model, facial structure, and the lip-synching technology. It's a hefty download at around 68 megabytes, but if you're on broadband it's worth snapping up. It's fairly shocking how much detail was lost in the E3 video's camcorder footage.

Dialup users, take heart. You can look at the screenshots below.
