We are already making great use of our new Steamworks tools. Our first patch has been released, you can get it by starting Eternal Silence from Steam (it will auto update. This patch should fix the following issues:

[FIX] Shorten transition distance from 500m to 200m to save bandwidth. [FIX] Made it so only ships from the hangar are networked (not all players/grenades/ion bombs) [FIX] Shorten ship visible distance from 1800m to 1500m. [FIX] Fixed player collisions, no more rubber band. [FIX] Fixed config reset bug. [FIX] Added Cancel button back to loading screen. [FIX] Allowed Target Last Attacker for passengers. [FIX] Bomb dropped properly when the carrier disconnects. [BAL] Lowered DPS on the Ion Cannon primary fire.

We're hoping this will greatly reduce lag and help with server performance. We can't be 100% sure the config bug was fixed, so please confirm this for us (if not, we will release another patch later today). Server administrators need to update their servers, but this patch should not break compatibility.

Speaking of servers, we were running a little low this weekend, so if you are thinking of renting a game server for Eternal Silence, I would highly recommend NuclearFallout.
