A handy tool by the name of Half-Life Informer has been updated. There's some nice features in this build including *drum roll*:
Automatic scanning of servers, at customisable intervals.
Discreetly informs you when your friends are
User defined sound for each player, so you know who is playing without even having to have access to the desktop.
Built in snapshot feature, for getting screen grabs at the touch of a button (not just from within HL based games)
View basic information about the server, without the need for a external server browser.
Join your friends in a game at the click of the mouse.
Most actions can be logged, either temporally in the program, or permanently to a external log file.
Automatically checks to ensure you have the very latest version.
Can automatically disable itself when connecting to a server, and even change the status of Microsoft's Messenger - no more getting pestered mid-game.
Uses few system resources, and doesn't interfere with any other software - even online games.
Small and compact design.
Very simple to use.
Highly customisable.
Sounds pretty good eh. If you want to give it a try you can download it here
