Greetings everyone! After the recent poll and feedback from several members, it has come to the attention of the HaloFiles staff that our long serving banner is looking quite out of date. This banner has been in constant use since the site went live in 2004. Rather than design a new banner in-house, we feel it would be great if we ran a competition so that members of the community can design a new banner for the site. GUIDELINES; 1) The banner concepts must be 980 by 100 pixels in size, no smaller or larger. 2) The banner must have a 1px black border around its edges. 3) The banner must be in color. 4) The banner cannot be made from the work of others, which does not include screenshots by Bungie. 5) Elements in the banner must be from Halo, Halo 2 or Halo 3. 6) As we are trying to update the look of the banner, Halo 3 themed banners are preferred. 7) The banner must contain the text 'HaloFiles' in some form, preferably in a Halo styled font. No other text is allowed. 8) The banner text must large and readable. This rules may be updated so check regularly. EXAMPLES; We thought it would be a good idea to show off some of the other banners from around the network as examples. Armada2Files banner h.jpgHalfLifeFiles banner h.jpg CnCFiles banner h.jpgThese are some good examples of what we are ideally looking for. FURTHER DETAILS; The banner contest will run from August 2nd until September 2nd (this is open to extension though). After the contest is over, the staff will review the banner submissions to see which ones are good candidates. The top 3 will be placed up for a public vote to decide which one is best. Collaborations between multiple people are allowed. All submissions should be made to files@Halofiles.com. Good luck and happy creating! The HaloFiles Team.
