File Description

Apologies for the delay in adding this file, for the first time ever there is a backlog of Halo 2 mods that require attention.

I was messing around with skins and I came up with this; Diamond Needles.

This is a merely a beta. I have only one problem for this skin; when the projectiles are fired, they turn the light purple again. On to the instructions. *Note, you might have to extract the file before beggining the process*

Jackle brings us yet another brilliant skin, this time focusing his attention on the needle rounds of the Covenant Needler. Jackle has changed the girlish pink of the needle rounds into white crystal, a change that looks great in my opinion. While the fired projectile still has a pink tinge (explained in the read-me) I didn't actually notice this at first.

A good mod, but people with no knowledge of HMT or unwilling to learn it should avoid this mod.

Skills, Applications, Items and Utilities you will need before starting:

-A Brain
-Basic Skin Knowledge
-HMT
-My Skin
-The ability to read on

*If you are incapable of this, don't continue.*

This skin actually includes 4 different bitmaps. I'll divide this into four sections.

Open up HMT delve into C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS or wherever you saved it and open any map. Any map works because skins apply to everything. Open up the "Bitmaps" tab and do the following:

Needler Skin:

Keep scrolling down until you find "weapon\needler\bitmaps\needler". Click on the "Inject Skin" button. Now go where ever you extracted all the files and open the folder up. When your in that find the "Skins" folder. In there double click/open "needler1.dds.1". There, it's in. Now time to move on.

Needler Contrail:

Keep scrolling down until you find "weapon\needler\bitmaps\needler contrail". It should be under the "Needler Skin". Click on the "Inject Skin" button. Now go where ever you extracted all the files and open the folder up. When your in that find the "Skins" folder. In there double click/open "needler contrail1.dds.1". There, it's in. Now time to move on again.

Needles:

Keep scrolling down until you find "weapon\needler\bitmaps\needler needles". Click on the "Inject Skin". Now go where ever you extracted all the files and open the folder up. When your in that find the "Skins" folder. In there double click/open "needler needles1.dds.1". There, it's in. Now time to move on to the final bitmap.

Third Person Needles:

Keep scrolling down until you find "weapon\needler\bitmaps\needler needles 3p". It would be located under "Needles". Click on the "Inject Skin". Now go where ever you extracted all the files and open the folder up. When your in that find the "Skins" folder. In there double click/open "needler needles 3p1.dds.1". There, it's in. Now open up Halo and everything should be there.

If none of the skins were there, you obviously did something wrong. If they were not there, consider revising what you did or trying again. If that does not work, try reinstalling Halo. If this does not work, it could be issues with your computer. I know that it works with Plug-ins like Bitterbanana's Yelo Battery; but if it's not working, try taking out any plug-ins or mods you previously installed. If issues continue, it's not my problem, and please don't annoy me for help; because I cannot help you.

Note, I take no responsibilities for your stupidity or any issues that occur, so don't flame me if you once working copy of Halo is now not working; because it was not likely to do with my skin, and yAour stupidity is your own stupidity.

Enjoy; and remember, this is a beta, and I am looking for anyone who knows how to change the colour of the projectle, as I am enable to. Also, I would like to know what everyone thinks about the new readme, and if it was more helpful. All question can be directed to me via eMail or Xfire.

My eMail is jackle12001@gmail.com.

My Xfire username is jackle123.

Thanks and enjoy,

Jackle
