JA for the win! By the way, I can't even run TFU with my 512 mb ram and AMD sempron :(

 #4 - Posted by: JSA_Hirato (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 00:29
offcourse it wont, it's a console game for crying out loud. pc>console

 #5 - Posted by: Ryuukotseiz_SITHLORD (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 03:17
However the gameplay is much better the JA, I will be on it for awhile when I do get it, getting the force unleashed today or tomorrow.

theres no way the force uleashed will stop me from playing jka besides i dont even want it

#8 - Posted by: SweetPunishment (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 06:22
God I guess I'm one of few that just want the game xD This game is too outdated for me. I still play it but not with so much fun as I'm playing TFU! I just like good-graphic games more then sucking graphs... And the story line of JA is disapointing...

#9 - CAN NOT WAIT - Posted by: rockstar (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 06:32
GIMMIE TFU lol shame you pc fanboys wont get to taste the glory. the only thing JKa has over TFU is the saber combat

#10 - Posted by: LeaNikkaya (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 07:08
Me: "pc gamer" LA: "no PC release" pretty much says it all.

#11 - Posted by: Bunuel (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 07:49
Nothing can change JO/JA in the manner of the gameplay! "I'm not even getting the game".

#12 - Posted by: _Marden (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 08:17
I'm sure those twenty people, who still play JA won't leave their game for TFU.

#13 - Posted by: seancsnm (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 09:23
If the makers of TFU were too lazy to make it for the PC, then I'm not spending $300 for an X-box 360 just so I can get it.(though an X-box 360 would be nice) I am not going to support PC-haters. Besides, I played the demo with my friend, and it got boring by the time the demo was over. A sign that you will love the game is wanting to play the demo over and over until you finally do get the game.

JKA FOREVER!

 #15 - Posted by: Anakin12 (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 10:34

#16 - Posted by: MarvelKid (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 12:03
JKA all the way.....or...most of t he way...LOL...graphics look awesome for TFU

#17 - Posted by: Unsunghero (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 15:02
Its not on PC, it wont be played in 5 years like JKA unless they make a PC version with online play and mod support, which is highly unlikely (if anything a port)

 #18 - AT #9 - Posted by: Codyy (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 15:11
Not true the saber combat in TFU is gonna be WAY much better than all the jedi knight games combined.

#19 - Posted by: DarthTurner (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 15:39
Anyone that will honestly say TFU will be better than the JO/JA series, has never played the JO/JA series, is way to hyped up for TFU, or is just insane. I've seen the game, I've played the demo, I've read all the reviews I could find, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that they would have made a more successful game if they had taken Jedi Academy and upgraded the graphics. They dropped the ball with TFU, especially after all the hyping they did for their "great" game. I honestly looked forward too it, and I had high hopes, and I DID give them the benefit of the doubt for most of it...that is until I played the demo and realised just how much time they wasted in investing in TFU the way they did. Seriously, whoever was working on that project needs to get out of the video game business, but I have yet to hear of such a big upset. Sure, lately not all of the star wars games have been great, but I usually didn't mind. I didn't like Battlefront 2 all that much, but hey, I didn't have high hopes for it anyway. I acctually liked KOTOR 2, and some of the other dissapointing stuff I didn't really find all that dissapointing. But TFU is the biggest dissapointment so far, and my only hope is that LucasArts releases something good soon, because if they don't, it might ruin them. Their biggest flaw was hyping this game like they did, and then not delivering. If they had not hyped it, I would have thought "Oh well...its another mediocre star wars game, but hey, it IS a star Wars game." But NO they decided to bill this as "THE" Star Wars game. The "BEST" star wars game. They show us all this great technology...TOO BAD YOU DIDN'T USE IT! Its just not used well enough in the game for you to really even care its there! The main use for it was on the doors, and the trees in the vader level. Everywhere else its "bleh, didn't even notice that."

 #20 - Cant get it - Posted by: Tulak_Hord (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 17:06
Not for PC :(

 #21 - well - Posted by: Sniper_Shot (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 20:59
Well firstly let me just say, YES, no more temporal phenomena!!! Secondly, even though the force unleashed is a sweet star wars game (I know because I already went through most of it) it won't keep players from coming back to the JK series for long, the need for the social interaction in the online gaming field will make sure of that. P.S. If your out there you time twisting jerk, know this. I'M WATCHING YOU... if you don't get it, read my last few posts on the previous poll.

#22 - Posted by: AgentCross (Member) on 09-16-2008 at 22:30
I'm not getting it, I'm really sick of LucasArts ignoring us PC gamers.

 #23 - I doubt it - Posted by: DogGy_ChrisTmaS (Member) on 09-17-2008 at 03:27
That would be a yes if the game was coming to pc.

Open your eyes, pal ... JKA has got a way more advanced saber combat system than TFU.

#25 - In relation toi lightsaber combat, followed by my own thoughts - Posted by: B3n (Member) on 09-17-2008 at 05:43
Advanced? As far as I can tell Lucasarts had *never* gotten the lightsaber right. In the JK series, it's just run in, cut, run out again. In BF2 it's too primitive to even mention, and in the Episode III game (and similar ones) it just behaves like a baseball bat. They've never gotten dismemberment right, either. Me? I don't have any consoles that TFU works for (my PS2 doesn't count), so I doubt I'll play it in the near future. Probably later when the price goes down. In any case, I'm not one of the PC Crusaders who continually rant and rave about the Evil Anti-PC Lucasarts conspiracy even though they've actually given legitimate reasons for not putting it on the PC. As for my interest in JO/JA, I'm not likely to lose it, since it's mostly gone anyway. I'd certainly take JK1 or Dark Forces over JA when looking for a fun game, but I'd pick up any one of the series every once in a while. In the meantime, I'd like to know if DarthTurner will actually specify what is wrong with TFU, rather than giving strawman arguments like "it was so hyped up and didn't deliver" without saying *how* it didn't deliver, or simply accusing non-like-minded people of being insane. Summarized: I take a passive approach to this. Then again, not much of an approach. More like a geosynchronous orbit.

 #26 - Posted by: Allanon_One (Member) on 09-17-2008 at 10:24
Well, personally, I am looking forward to TFU. I own a Wii and although the graphics arent up to par with the 360 or PS3, it's still worth a good rental. I say rental because the lack of an online multiplayer, and although the Wii has a LAN multiplayer option, I don't have many people where I live that could come hang out to play it.

#27 - Posted by: LukeSkillz (Member) on 09-17-2008 at 11:10
Indeed, I think it will actually boost my interest in JO/JA...I'll see new ideas for mods and try to make them. In fact, I've already begun such a process with my underhand saber mod (check it out in the JK3 forums if you'd like to help). Long live the JK series!

#28 - Posted by: Cartwright (Member) on 09-17-2008 at 11:35
To be honest the game should be given a chance - heck, it isn't even out yet. You can't judge a game from a demo either, certain updated features may be applied to the finished product, and for example, your force powers may not be as powerful as they could be, as later upgrades may improve your abilities. I cannot believe that the 'sean' person has already declared the game a failure. You simply may have been PC gaming so much you've forgotten how to use a games controller. :) I think some of the devout PC gamers should give other platforms a chance, and I can't believe people are complaining that TFU isn't on a computer, do they realise how many platforms the game spans? It covers Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 all the way down to the PS2 and even the DS! That is quite a selection, and the only thing PC gamers would miss out on is the ability to mod the game. I know I don't play games to mod them, I play them to enjoy them and appreciate the story, only resorting to modifying them after I have played through the game atleast once, and besides - experienced game modifiers can mod games on consoles. (I am a PC and console gamer - just so nobody can say I'm anti-PC or whatever.)

#29 - Posted by: MatmanDude (Member) on 09-17-2008 at 11:44
I already got it for PS3. I am almost through the whole game. BEST DAMN GAME EVER! :mepimp::thumbsup::mepimp:

Its a cool game, but as its only single player (and not on PC, if I'm not mistaken) doesn't have the ability to use extra maps. May get it when cheaper, but until then I'm stickin' with JA:p

 #33 - Posted by: Xin2121 (Member) on 09-17-2008 at 18:52
i got it and im quite happy with it seeing as how im extreamly bored of the Ja/Jo games tho ill still skin and such for Ja/Jo but not much else

#34 - Posted by: Raschu (Member) on 09-18-2008 at 00:59
Not even getting the game. People are always like OMG COOL GRAPHICS and such, I don't really care about graphics myself, I can like a slightly of graphic game as long as the gameplay and the people are nice. JKO/A surely has a gameplay that is nice, easy to handle, fun to do. But more than that must be the community around it, with the modders, clans an cults. This game from 2000(it was 2000 right?) and 2003 is still a burst of inspiration for so many creative gamers. In this way the game is actually renewing itself over and over again with TC's like MBII and NDA (I happen to make the NDA music). I think as long as the master server keeps going JKA (not to sure about JKO) won't die!

 #35 - Not At All - Posted by: Jonny2199 (Member) on 09-18-2008 at 08:23
As far as I can see, they're two different games. Not to mention how TFU Wii Multiplayer will not be as epic as online JKA and how short TFU Single Player promises to be. It'll be awesome, I'll enjoy it, but Jedi Academy will still be one of my most played games.

#36 - Posted by: HouseOfAmon (Member) on 09-18-2008 at 14:14
Meh, its not a bad game, but its no Jedi Knight game either. I liked a lot of what they did, playing as Vader felt pretty good, the way he moved, and how his cape flowed, etc.. The force lightning looked pretty good, and being able to throw objects around was pretty cool.. The lightsaber impalement move is one of the best moves in the game, I wish JKJA/JKJO had that move.. I hated the Emperor's voice actor, saber combat is frustrating, I hit a stormtrooper like 6 times and he still came back for more, it was more like he had a bat, and not a saber. The controls acted funky sometimes, the camera had a mind of its own, targeting objects was harder than it should have been. I don't know, its not a bad game, it just could have been a lot better, they should have bought the source code to JKJA, and reworked it with Euphoria, DMM, new moves, better graphics, etc,.. I played me some JKJA today, and I force gripped a stormtrooper, threw my saber at him(he died), hit him with force storm while still gripping him, then I force pushed him while still frying him, as I let go he went flying like Mace Windu in EP3, I used force speed and chased the flying body, then I caught it with force grip, and launched him again in a similar fashion.. Then I thought to myself, now thats how you unleash the force mothafu**ers!! :)

 #37 - Posted by: yodaman123 (Member) on 09-18-2008 at 15:59
I rented it from Blockbuster the other day. It is just like the Revenge Of The Sith game for PS2, but more force abilities. I literally fell asleep playing it.

 #38 - Posted by: Darth_Awec (Member) on 09-19-2008 at 05:54
Not getting it. It'd be a waste of my time and money. Quite frankly, there are only two half-decent saber systems around: The JO/JA Saber System, and the Mb2 System. And the Mb2 system is the only realistic system around.

#39 - won't buy it unless it comes out for pc - Posted by: GrizzlyBear1972 (Member) on 09-19-2008 at 11:30
I was really disappointed that lucasarts failed to release the game for PC. I think it's really a loss on their part. I am pretty sure I own every Star Wars game released for PC and hoped to add this to my collection. I honestly don't buy that the game won't run well on a modern machine. Come on, how old is Xbox? Give me a break! Lucas sure picked the right name for Force unleashed: FU! Tha'ts what he told all the PC gamers for sure. If by some chance they release it for the rest of the gamers, I'll consider it.

 #40 - i love my game...<3 - Posted by: revan4evr (Member) on 09-19-2008 at 12:59
*kisses game cover* uh-uh baybe, you're the only one for me... that force unleashed don't mean nothin', can't even mod it!

 #41 - #28 - Posted by: Giga_Hertz (Member) on 09-19-2008 at 14:34
It's not that we've forgotten to use a controller, it's that we don't want to fork out $600 for a new system every years when we can just upgrade our video card.

#42 - Posted by: merios (Member) on 09-19-2008 at 15:11
"Yep, see ya" I probably won't play JA again. xD The game was just too boring and definitely not friendly to play if you're mediocre or a casual gamer. Multiplayer is awful- it's completely dominated by nerds who spend every waking minute of their life playing it just to get the delayed swings or the thrust right. I'm moving on to bigger and better things, this game is just too outdated to be worthy of my playing time.

#43 - Definitely not - Posted by: GrdAdmSenza (Member) on 09-19-2008 at 16:49
I just completed TFU for the first time, BEST.. GAME... EVER. It may top EVERYTHING else, but JKA will always be there, when im not feeling in the mood for blowing the crap out of stuff, or if (heaven forbid) my Xbox gets the red rings of death. As for anyone who thinks this game isnt good, you are WRONG, GET IT.

#44 - Oh, and - Posted by: GrdAdmSenza (Member) on 09-19-2008 at 16:51
Im sure they'll do a PC port eventually, its just a question of when, just look at the Halo series, it was an xbox release, but it found its way to the PC.

 #45 - Posted by: Dark_Diablos (Member) on 09-20-2008 at 03:50
Don't want it, don't think about it.

#46 - Posted by: Forceboat (Member) on 09-20-2008 at 09:17
The reason I voted that I'm not even getting the game? LucasArts couldn't be bothered with making a version for the PC. :furious: So am I going to go out and blow money that I don't have on a system for one game that they couldn't bother with making a PC version for? Absolutely NOT!! :furious:

#50 - IT WILL COST A $6000 DOLLAR OR COMP OR MORE TO PLAY TFU - Posted by: Codyy (Member) on 09-21-2008 at 06:33
The develepors said you immature complaining snobs that you will need a very expensive comp to play it THATS WHY THEY DIDNT RELEASE IT TO COMPUTER. Instead of complaining get your facts right. As well as the saber combat in TFU is MUCH better than JKA and JO and for the guy that said he swung 6 times on a stormy and that it wouldnt die must of hit a jet trooper or something cause i kill them in like one shot or 2 if i hit wrong accidently >_>. After playing TFU i say that im totaly done with jedi academy. BUT im still gonna play Dark forces 2 and Jedi Outcast. WHY? because JKA sucks they added a tiny bit better graphics and meaning less kata's and some acrobats WOOO. >_>. But with JO the sp was great the mp WAS great till lazy idiots like queen of noobs and others posted and created scripts and pretty much killed it. Im sure other reasons killed it im sure. DF2 was and still is great though i cant play mp on it i still like to play sp. JKA is boring sp wise and mp wise cept for OJP and MBII. But im done with it. Im not leaving JO or DF2 though. But TFU is WAY much better than the pathetic JKA. JO is better than the pathetic JKA and DF2 is better than the pathetic JKA. Done.

 #51 - Although - Posted by: Codyy (Member) on 09-21-2008 at 06:39
I might still play sp on jka using sp mods here and there. I cant miss the new movie duels that wector is making. Plus i have a JO sp conversion mod for jka allowing me to play JO sp on jka. But i wont play it much.

#52 - Posted by: AgentCross (Member) on 09-21-2008 at 19:21
It was a fun game and an amazing story. But the saber systems in JO and JA are in fact more advanced. TFU, I'm sorry to say is little more then a button masher when it comes to Saber Skills. It only get's tactical when you use Force Powers.

#53 - button pusher? - Posted by: Codyy (Member) on 09-22-2008 at 12:24
Jo and JKA ARE THE SAME THING you press left click thats it!. Oh and i forgot you casn crouch and turn to >_>. You CAN attack in the air sure but you can do that to in tfu . JA and JO's saber fighting is not more advance its pathetic. There sawings look nothing like the movies ive seen samurai movies from the 80's that are better. DF2's saber fighting is better it looks more realistic than ja. in jo sand ja it looks like there swinging a baseball bat. TFU looks moe realistic and deadly. JO and JA's saber fighting is horrible. Jo's is less buggy while ja is very buggy and is evn MORE incorrect. Jo's is a bit more realistic but is stil pathetic. Not as much as ja but still. TFU's saber fighting is much more advanced and better than the jedi knight series.

 #54 - #50 - Posted by: Giga_Hertz (Member) on 09-22-2008 at 14:24
Um... What? If modern day computers that aren't $6000 can run Crysis, they can run this. If a game was designed for Playstation 2, NDS and iPhone, they can do some work arounds for PC. In fact, apart from getting some sort of Quad-SLI board with room for four quad CPUs, I can't even think of a PC that would cost $6000 (not counting hard drives, water cooling, case, etc.)

#55 - Trust me - Posted by: Codyy (Member) on 09-22-2008 at 14:36
Its not just graphics its also the effects and the euphoria. Does crysis have that? NOPE. Plus there is fear of pirating which they dont want. You would need a supreme computer to play it not just for the graphics but also the effects the sounds and the Euphoria and all those other things.

 #56 - OK, TFU =/= JKA/O - Posted by: Anakin992 (Member) on 09-22-2008 at 21:01
I really wish people would stop comparing TFU to the JK series, 2 totally different types of games. JKA was successful not because of its revolutionary saber combat, or graphics. It was successful because it was what gamers like, FPS and lightsabers. Putting the two together is instant win. However, it took thought to make TFU, to go above and beyond the bar for Jedi games. This is a true Jedi game, JK is NOT.... its an FPS with a saber. I'm a vet of JK and I've beaten TFU twice already. Take it from me, they are for 2 different types of gamers. Online on TFU would suck, its not designed for it. SO leave that argument alone. GEEZ

 #57 - Posted by: paulskywalker2000 (Member) on 09-23-2008 at 07:29
Wow, this is just....omg. This is pathetic OK, before I begin, I actually don't give a f*** about technology OR graphics; rather, let's compare the two game's storylines, characters, gameplay, and music. Oh man, this should be fun :D First off, the storylines; JKA's is about some crazy Sith-wannabe who SUCKS FORCE ENERGY to ressurect some dead guy. Plus, when she stabs her scepter into the statue, he doesn't even get ressurected; he just takes possession of her body and you face ANOTHER (lame) boss fight. w00t w00t. The Force Unleashed, meanwhile, is about Darth Vader's apprentice, one of the most powerful Force-users in history, kicking a$$ with the Force. It's a story that has power, love, and redemption in it (I'm not saying anymore, lest I spoil anything). Now for the characters; who do you play in JKA? SOME EMOTIONLESS DUDE WITH NO BACKSTORY! And the supporting characters? Luke, Kyle, and the most annoying person in Star Wars history; somebody who even surpasses Jar Jar Binks. Meanwhile in the Force Unleashed, the apprentice actually has emotions and he CHANGES in the middle of the game. He realizes that being a slave to Vader isn't maybe all that it's cut out to be. And the supporting characters have their own things to add in that eventually make you...care for them? Something like that. Gameplay for JKA is repetitive and amazingly boring when it's unmodded. Swing your Lightsaber at incredibly easy foes. Just keep that attack button down! And don't worry about taking damage, because Force Heal will take care of it all for you! Bosses in JKA are nothing but standard enemies who will do more rolling around and have more health. The Force Unleashed can be a different experience every time you play; by upgrading different Force powers, you can utilize different combos that can totally SLAUGHTER your foes. It's trully amazing to see, finally, "The Power of the Dark Side;" and the power of the Light Side. Lastly, the music in JKA is nothing but the standard John William's score. And while the Force-Unleashed does have a lot of it, it uses more Ep.III music, which hasn't been used that much in video games. To top it off, they even have some original music. There's NO comparison. It's like putting Jaden Korr VS. Vader's Apprentice in an arena. The Force Unleashed could seriously have been made into a movie. In fact, that's what should have happened (rather then this Clone Wars bullsh*t) The Force Unleashed FTW!
