Mangaman brings us Squall's Gunblade from FF8 to replace the standard lightsaber. Revolver hilt, Greavor insignia, and metalic sounds in all.
While this is a nice model, I do have a few complaints. In both Red and Blue stance, the character holds the gunblade, flat of the blade facing out. That doesn't look very good. Also, the sounds just dont cut it... I mean, go hit the wall, and listen to that. It does NOT sound like a gunblade sliding along the wall. It sounds like some weird techno banging on garbage cans musical. When you swing the blade and it slices air, it does sound good, just.... dont hit the wall :P. For a first model however, this IS good. The blade itself looks good, as good as can be for jk2, at least. If you're a FF8 fan, and you want a gunblade to hack away at enemies instead of a saber, I would suggest this model. Just... turn down your sounds some, and dont use red stance ;)
[Installation Note] Dispite what the readme says, you do NOT create a new directory inside GameData to install. Just place gunblade.pk3 into you're base folder.
Title : Gunblade Author : mangaman3000 E-Mail : email@example.com File Name : gunblade.zip File Size : 137 KB Date Released : 2/6/2003 Description : This file replaces are beloved light saber with Squall’s Gunblade from Final Fantasy 8. Installation : Make a new directory in the JKII gamedata directory and extract the files from the gunblade.zip file into the newly created directory. Comments : This is my first model so cut me some slack. I have kept the md3 file in for people to look at it in an md3 viewer. And no it doesn’t fire.
