***NOTE*** To load this map, you will have to bring the console down in the Single Player main menu and type “map r5” (without the quotes).
Well, it’s been a while since I played any JK2 Singleplayer so I thought this map would help me get back into it. And I wasn’t wrong! This map is one hell of a challenge to complete! ;)
Basically you start out with Luke Skywalker stood on top of the Millennium Falcon in space (don’t ask me how they are meant to breath out there :P) with a gun turret next to you. Out in the distance you can see what looks like some kind of transport. If you use your binoculars you can see that it is several platforms filled with Stormtroopers!
This is the back-story that the author put in his readme:
A cargo train of Remnant clone troops has been spotted leaving the Phalenx system. You must intercept and board that train to find out where it is going. Sensors indicate that many of the clones are still inactive, but they will still be heavily guarded. You and Master Skywalker must stop the delivery and who ever is behind it; we cannot afford to have another clone army activated!
Basically what you have to do is take out ALL the Stormtroopers on these moving platforms, once you have done that you have beaten the level. But believe me, it is not as simple or as easy as it sounds! There are lots of Stormtroopers on there, and what is even scarier is that as soon as the platforms move past you, they start firing rockets! Fortunately Luke is there beside you and he does his best to force push the incoming rockets away. That is if he doesn’t get blown up himself! He also has the unnerving habit of falling off the edge of the Falcon, leaving you all on your own!
Once the platforms full of Stormtroopers move past you, they then start to move back towards where they came, so you have to take out as many as possible, as quickly as possible. Otherwise they will get too far away and you won’t be able to aim accurately enough to hit them.
Overall this is a very fun, but also very difficult level, and there are some things I think could be improved upon. Mainly I think there should be some more detailing to the transport platforms that the Stormtroopers are on, and also the Millennium Falcon should be bigger, because there isn’t much space to move on there!
Lastly, I think you should also be able to jump over to the platform, so you can get some saber action head to head with the Stormies. This might be possible already, but I couldn’t get further enough and kept falling to my doom! :P
All in all a fun map here that will certainly test your skill! If you want a good challenge, I definitely recommend this map.
