William "not a newbie" Wu has created his first Mod for JKII. Changing the speed of a player's movement and the damage a weapon causes are William's way of making JKII more intense. Now a player's attempt to escape an approaching opponent's saber is reduced slightly if they back away or side step. The speed has been reduced. Also, now the alternative fire of the Flechette and Heavy Repeater cause less damage, making them less powerful guns. However, the Flechette's primary fire damage has increased. Unfortunately, this mod is less than stellar. What this mod does is take a game that we all know and love and strip it down. This mod takes away features that most of us like. An old phrase comes to mind, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". The changes that are made are almost insignificant, though, so it's hard for me to praise this mod, or denounce it. =/ ~AmosMagee

This is a multiplayer modification for Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast.
You must be running ver. 1.04 to use this MOD.

Installation:
Extract the contents of this .zip to "Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\" so you have "Speed_Mod.bat" and "Speed_Mod" folder next to "jk2mp.exe". The .bat should launch jk2mp with the MOD.

This is my first MOD, also a simple one. All I did was change some of the speeds (player movement, weapon shots) and damage of some weapons. My goal is to make fighting more intense be it with guns or sabers. No, I do not have lots of experience nor powerful tools, but I know where to go. List of changes from 1.04 as below:

1. Player back and side movement speeds reduced. Thus saberists stay closer and escaping is more dangerous. Also a saberist can charge a gunner more successfully.

2. Some weapon shots' velocities increased to mimic real-life weapons. By comparing shot velocities with player movement speed. Enhancing gunners's effectiveness at long ranges.

3. Flechette and Heavy Repeater secondaries cause 100% self damage, have less blast damage. Aim well!

4. Flechette primary fire damage increased. Now you have a shotgun.

Supported Gametype: All
Recommended Gametype: FFA, TFFA, CTF

This MOD works great with Jedi vs Merc ON. To do this, you open up Speed_Mod\jk2mpconfig.cfg (it'll be there once the MOD has been run). Search for [seta g_jediVmerc "0"], then make it [seta g_jediVmerc "1"]. In this mode, a jedi has access to the saber and the force, while a merc has a few guns at respawn and can pick up additional guns.
