Hmm, a first skin. And it's not some form of desaturated mumbo jumbo? ....Did someone spike my coffee here? Seriously, this can't be right...
Oh, but it is. You see, here we have someone who said "I'm not going to claim credit as a skinner for doing absolutely jack! I'm going to actually skin something!". Rarity indeed, but it's a challenge many more people should rise to rather than merely tapping CTRL+D in Photoshop and calling the end product a texture file.
Firstly, be warned that this will overwrite Kyle Katarn. That's pretty much the biggest drawback, so let's get it out of the way - for as long as you have this file installed, Kyle is unplayable. Period.
Well, now that we got that out of the way, let's see what we've got here.
This skin is, fundamentally, a re-styled Episode 1 Obi-Wan. If I wanted to keep things simple, that's about as far as I'd go. To elaborate, it's an Episode 1 Obi-Wan restyled to look older, complete with white hair, darker skin tone, and general minor details. The coloring of the clothing has also changed - whereas a traditional Jedi robe would be a creamy beige, this is a dark fox brown color. The face has minor details on which will be barely noticeable in the game unless you look very close through a disruptor scope, but these apparently make the Jedi look older. To me, it makes him look mediterranean, but meh.
What are the typical first-timer aspects? Facial hair looks so blatantly painted on. It has nowhere near the amount of detail one would expect for facial hair - in fact, it has little detail at all. Skinning hair properly is quite an advanced thing, it'll take some time before the author gets used to it. There's a few misaligned textures on there which might need fixing for a future release, if there will be one. Thankfully, the majority of the newbie habits have been forsaken here, so it's quite a quality release for a first project.
I gotta say, rookie, not bad. Not bad at all. Keep at it, you can only get better with experience.

/THE OLD MASTER\ Information: This is a re-skin for Jedi Knight II of the Darzee Mardoo character whose author apparently based the skin on another author's Anakin Skywalker model. This will replace Kyle in Single Player and probably in Multiplayer aswell..This is my first skin for JK II and as such I'm not 100% sure if the mentioned Anakin Skywalker model is necessary to use this file. I don't believe it is because I don't have the model and this works fine for me. I used bits from the Episode 1 Obi-Wan skin included with ep1 mod and painted over parts of the face to create the beard and eyebrows I also added smaller details like freckles, "crows feet" and bags under the eyes to make the character look older. In addition..I recolored the hair to be gray and also recolored the clothing to be a gold/brownish hue. No backstory for this character, he is just sort of an old jedi master..you make up your own story ;) I hope this skin is of some use to you and that you enjoy it..remember it is my first skin so please be gentle with your judgements. I could always use constructive criticism where applicable. Reason I made this: I just wanted to get into Jedi knight II skinning (I know I'm getting into it late..it's 2007 after all and JK II is an old game but I still love it.) I also wanted a nice jedi character with an old man feel to him. DIRECTIONS: Just extract the OldMaster.pk3 into your gamedata/base folder -OR- create a folder called OldMaster in your Gamedata folder and extract the OldMaster.pk3 into the similarly named folder. Using this method will create a mod selectable from the mod menu under setup in the game and will not overwrite the default kyle in the normal game. Credits: Original skin and file: Darzee Mardo by Darth Amote Additional skin pieces: ep1 mod by Boinga1 (and whoever made the models/skins he/she used for that mod) Re-skin work: AndrewM619 Disclaimer: I'm not the original author of the skin/skins this reskin was based on, I am however responsible for this file in its current state.
