File Description

Camera scripts are something we don't get often, but when we do, they usually work. This one does what it says it does. It toggles between 1st, 3rd and 4th person views. I'll start with the good.

4th person view works nicely. The camera stays put while you move around and when you go beyond your sight, your sight follows you to your new location and resumes waiting for you to disappear. The movement takes a while to get used to.

1st person doesn't work right. The camera is placed somewhere near the back of the character's head, inside the skull. As a result, you'll constantly see the backs of your own eyeballs and the insides of your mouth (should your avatar have one). And if you're really unlucky and ended up with an avatar that has an inside of the face as well, your vision will be even more obstructed. The camera will usually clip through the back of the head while you're running.

In the end, it half-works. The 4th person view does its job very nicely, but 1st person view fails. I tried messing with the camera via console commands and came to the realisation that actual 1st person view is near-impossible in base JKA, so the fault isn't the author's. But if you think you need it, give it a download and test it out yourself.

Note: this works for both JO/JA.

Consider yourself before judging others.
