The Open Jedi Project (OJP) is approaching the big version 1.0 release! First of all, we require more coders as the project head, Razorace, has been hired by Zipper Interactive as a full time game developer. OJP's progress, however, is still moving bullet-train fast, as we have managed to iron out bugs and balancing issues, and made combat vastly different from our public release version 0.0.9b which you will find on JK3files.
The main menu and HUD have also been given a new look, which will be publically available in the big version 1.0, and we already have a pretty stable, solid experience system, in which getting kills earns you experience to upgrade yourself - sort of like a fusion between KOTOR and JK3. Nevertheless, we are always looking for people to help out, whether you're a skinner/texturer, mapper or coder (yes, especially coders).
In other updates, the OJP team of major contributors are planning to steer the mod in the direction of better co-op play, rather than following in the footsteps of hugely successful team-based mods like Movie Battles II. While plans in working on other game modes haven't been confirmed yet, getting a fully functional co-op mode continues to remain one of our primary objectives. Our contributors are actively working on fleshing out a never-before-seen co-op mode in the Star Wars universe ala Serious Sam style, making use of whatever we have on the field right now (including our new experience system), and we are also planning to offer our support to budding mappers who'd like to help us with co-op as well. While our forums may appear dead and the main website not updated, we're all communicating through IM, so rest assured that you'll see lots of new updates on the forums very soon.
We'd like to extend our gratitude to the OJP community, especially the players, who have given us ample feedback and continued to support us. Stay tuned, as we are nearing the big v1 release with every passing day!
On behalf of the OJP team
