File Description

This map is based on Club ObiWan (it was ACTUALLY called that?! :S) from the film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I’ve only seen Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom a couple of times (I loved the other 2, just not that one :/), so I cant really comment on how accurate this map is….but anyways, on with the review…

From what I can remember from the film, this map does indeed look similar to the area that the film starts off in, although, like I said I cant comment on the details, having only seen the film a couple of times. The map is pretty good, there are some very nice details here and there like the cocktail glasses and the wine bottles. The staircase (which unfortunately, you cant go up :() looks very nice and well made, and the stage area looks good too, overall the map is quite nicely made. The music is very cool too :D

However, I was surprised at how small it was. It works on FFA, but really, this is only a Duel sized map. I can understand why it might be small though, afterall, it is quite difficult to get a lot of reference material from a film, for a map. The lighting is also quite harsh and flat, it would have been nice if it had been a bit more toned down and had stronger coloured lighting from the stage. Also, the fps drops quite a lot when you face the stage area.

However, on a plus note, it does have bot support!

This is quite a cool map, especially if you’re an Indiana Jones fan! Nice work here man :)

x Comment : This is the next map I release which is based on the
mid-80s-movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Using the DVD I tried to get a nearly (:P) duplicate Club Obi-Wan
playable in Jedi Academy. For those who don't remember:
Club Obi-Wan is the place where the first scenes of Temple of
Doom were set. In the movie you "enjoy" a melee that I found so
funny that I had to make it joinable for us. ;)

Although not being able to model the statues decorating this club
I tried to get it look similar to the movie's one using the few
views on some areas of the club given me by the DVD.
It was very hard, because in the movie the characters fill out
most of the screen.;)

Well. In the map you will find the shown areas like :
- the stairs where bad guys came with a machine gun
- the area where musicians played "Anything goes" between chinese
  porcelain vases
- the desk where Dr Jones "drank too much"
- the gong and the appropriate window
- >some< balloons under the ceiling
- ...

Time to kick some ass! Have fun!
