Chrono Trigger - quite possibly one of the best games ever. Just goes to show that SNES still pwns all those new-fangled consoles you kids are playing with these days. People should remember Crono as the red-haired hero of Chrono Trigger who, of course, managed to express himself quite clearly without ever speaking a word. He lets his katana do the talking most of the time. This skin is a reskin of Chairwalker's Cloud model to be Crono. There are several reasons why this simply doesn't work.
Chairwalker's Cloud model has never been one of my favorites. Chairwalker has done a lot of great work in the past, but this particular model was not one of his better endeavors. The model itself is simple and plain, with several parts actually detached in such a way that during certain animations, I believe his feet become visibly detached from his legs. The texturing is very basic, with very little depth or realness, and as a result the mostly recolors that come out of this model suffer the same setbacks. This particular skin especially so, as not only does it almost only recolor the original model, but it actually overwrites it. The included katana also overwrites the original, something I'm sure neither of these original authors would be pleased about if they knew.
The last, and most obvious setback, is that beyond their hair, Cloud and Crono really look nothing alike. This model simply isn't shaped appropriately to be Crono, which is a shame. We need a good Crono model! Oh yes, and poor Crono does speak in this model.. though somehow I imagined he wouldn't sound like Jaden if he had a voice... ;)
One last note, though. FYI, Crono fans may just find the katana sounds make this skin worth downloading. I had myself a little giggle when I heard them. Bring back fond memories... *goes off to play Chrono Trigger*
