This lightsaber hilt is supposed to belong to a Sith witched named, you guessed it, Ametha. The hilt itself is relatively simple. It's very long, strangely enough, and ends in a long point. Sounds good for the ol' smack your opponent in the eye with a pointy object trick! While simple, it still has quite a bit more detail than most hilts we see here. It follows many traditional hilt designs, including those for the grip and emitter, but also adds some unique bits, like the spikes near the top and, of course, that big spike on the bottom. An interesting hilt, to be sure, and the only thing that would really spruce it up would be some better and more interesting texturing. A little color couldn't hurt, either.
Big downfall (yes, there's always one) in my eyes is the hum sound. The author states that if you find it annoying, you can change it to a second one included with the hilt by changing the .sab file. Well, most people aren't going to want to have to manually edit a mod they download. This particular hum sound is cool for about the first ten seconds, then it will make you want to tear your hair out. I would recommend that if you download this hilt, you do indeed change the hum sound. Other than that, though, it seems like a decent hilt to add to your collection.
*************************** JEDI ACADEMY MODIFICATION *************************** Title: Darth Ametha's Lightsaber Author: Akane_Syria E-Mail: Xao_LXIVR@hotmail.com File Name: Ametha_Lightsaber.zip File Size: 549 Kb Description: Another original design by yours truly. This lightsaber belongs to a Sith witch named Darth Ametha, who's an apprentice to Darth Evasto. I started on this a while back and recently finished it. I have another hilt in the works as well. Included with the hilt are several new sounds: Two hums, two ignitions, and a shutoff. If the normal hum gets annoying you can switch to the other hum by editing the .sab file, replacing ametha_hum.wav with ametha_hum2.wav. With the ignition sound its the same deal, but instead you replace saber_on.mp3 with saber_on2.mp3. Comments: My second hilt thus far. I did include a shader with this one but it doesn't appear to be working (which is typical in my case), but either way its there in case someone can get it to work. Bugs: None. (Unless you count the queer issue I was having with Modview, where the texture for the activation assembly was missing when it really wasn't.) Installation: Just huck the pk3 into your base folder. Don't want it anymore? Use that good ol' friend of ours, the delete key. Special Thanks to: Virtue, from thejediacademy.net, who made the tutorial that I used to make this hilt.
