Ah yes, ironic that I was so hoping for a glorious arena with which to witness the slaughter of my malcontents.
Behold, as you are presented a fully operation arena, with pit areas with which to practice your survival skills before entertaining me. Beds to sweat it out in, targets to practice marksman skills, dummies to attack, and then, of course, the arena itself.
The arena is sealed off a portcullis, which I assume was inspired from Oblivion, as the arena's style reminds me greatly of the Imperial City arena. The arena itself has three points of access, one of which I would assume is a beast entrance =_,= Good, I needed one of them, because I hate having to keep my hook horrors on leashes. The main arena can be spectated from the above balcony boxes, one of each side over a portcullis. (The fourth portcullis is there for visual balance.) Overall, quite a magnificent and malevolent sight to behold. Guess what? BATTLES CAN BE DONE AT NIGHT AS WELL! =_,= This map is also compatible with duel types.
My only qualm is probably the choice of texture. The brick look sorta looks strange, albeit it's acceptable. I would have personally scrounged or created a marble or smooth stone texture to improve the aura of an arena. Otherwise, well done job. =_,=

Earthwood Arena Author: Ryan Strain (Yami_Ryou) E-mail: email@example.com Date finished: Saturday, August 11, 2007 File size: 21.7 MB ================================================ Installation: Copy the "Earthwood Arena.pk3" file and paste it in your jedi academy base folder (default = "C:/Program Files/Lucasarts/Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/Gamedata/base") ================================================ File Description: Thank you for downloading my new map! This map is a roman style arena. And unlike my last map, "Bloodletter Arena", this map was made from scratch, and contains MUCH more detail and more structure. This arena contains everything you really expect to see in an arena: Main fighting pit, balconies to watch the fights from, and a bloodworks (barracks) for each team. Because this map has 2 bloodlworks - one for the red team, and one for the blue - it is ideal for team FFA's. 4 different versions of the map have been included for variety. There's the default Arena, for FFA's and Team FFA's. Then there's the duel version, ideal for duel and power duel gametype. Then a night version of each map has been included. So if you prefer to fight in the shadows of night, choose the night version. There is one secret in this map, but it's a valuable one. I suggest you spend some time looking for it. The maps also include new music. The music has been taken from Oblivion and Morrowind, and was created by Jeremy Soule; one of my favorite musical composers. So that's about all I can say; just have fun dueling in my map. If you have any suggestions for a version 2 or for a different map, just email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you. ================================================ Bugs: Nothing I know of.
