So I think the best part about this saber mod has to be the story behind the blade!
The resulting blades, known to the jedi as Ghostsabers, were impure, displaying holes in their fire that were, in life, blemishes on the Jedi's soul itself. Though no better than a regular saber blade, it was, in Bane's mind, the ultimate insult to an enemy to use his own soul to slay his comrades...
Whoa, huh? So anyway, I need to get into the habit of reading the readme BEFORE I test the file. I didn't know so much had changed here. I just thought it was the saber trail. Which, by the way, is very cool. Apparently there are quite a few changes here, like the look of saber collision and when you kill someone. So download this mod and check it out!
Ghostsabers Made by Taters-N-Cheese (Matt Carter) Tubacarter@yahoo.com Simply place the .pk3 file into the Gamedata/base directory where you installed Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Story: Years ago, an ancient Sith Lord named Darth Bane began to practice the Dark Arts, a form of Sith magic, in an attempt to steel himself against the Jedi Knights of his time. One of his lesser-known actions was the discovery of a technique that allowed him to capture an enemy's very soul in the crystal placed in a lightsaber, using a process similar to that of the Ssi-ruuk's entechment. This is a saber mod that turns your lightsaber choices into the Ghostsabers. I have included a handful of pk3's, so let me explain what is new. Each pk3 with a certain color changes the blade of that color. The white core becomes a slightly lighter color of the blade itself. When a trail is left, the saber leaves a sparkly, eerie trail of that color (note: other sabers leave the same color trail. In other words, the red ghostsaber pk3 makes all the sabers leave a modified red trail). When hitting an enemy, these sabers leave a ectoplasm-ey mess of the saber's color. When two lightsabers collide, a sort of Star of Bethlehem-type flash appears. The sabers look like they have holes in some parts of the blades. NOTE: You may be interested to know that these sabers started as an attempt to make a crayola crayon saber, but I found out that these were really cool when I made one by mistake. So, there you have it!
