Okay, so yay! JK3 is finally here and so is everything we need to make our dedicated servers so we can all start n00bin' it up together! (Except, of course, for those with a natural talent with a saber, or two sabers or ... yeah.) :D This particular zip will help you set up a server for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy for Win32. This is version 1.00. Note that there is also a file with server options and a sample server.cfg included to help those who've never set up a dedicated JK2... er JK3 server before. :) Gonna take a while for me to get used to that change. ;)
See ya on the servers, guys!
Star Wars Jedi Academy dedicated server for Win32. Version 1.00 With much gratitude to James Drews for compiling this and sorting out the problems. And there were plenty. This archive file contains: readme.txt : The file you are reading now jampded.exe : Jedi Academy win32 executable server options.txt : List of server options base\server.cfg : An example server config file Disclaimer-Jedi Academy Dedicated Server.doc : Legal Disclaimer. Initial Release Thank you for downloading the win32 dedicated server for Jedi Academy. This release is designed for server administrators running remote installations of servers, or for servers that do not have the proper video card to launch the game normally. Note that this release requires a full installation of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy for the server function. Installing win32 dedicated server: 1. Make sure Jedi Academy is fully installed before proceeding. 2. Unzip the contents of the archive to the 'Gamedata' folder in the directory in which Jedi Academy is installed (e.g. "C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Academy\GameData"). This will put an example 'server.cfg' file in the 'base' folder which you can customize later on. 3. Open the 'server.cfg' file with a simple text editor, and make any changes necessary (as outlined in the 'server options.txt' included in this archive). 4. Create a shortcut to the jampded.exe by right-clicking on the file, then selecting 'Create Shortcut'. Then right-click on the shortcut, and select 'Properties'. In the 'Target' field, modify the text so it appears like this: "C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Academy\GameData\jampDed.exe" +exec server.cfg 5. Launch the shortcut. By default, the server will run in "internet" play mode and advertise its presence to the master server. If you wish to have a LAN play only server, change your server config to set dedicated 1, or change the command line options to: + exec server.cfg +set dedicated 1 Notes: -The game will look in the base directory for pak and config files. © 2003 LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC, © 2003 Lucasfilm Ltd & ™ or ® as indicated.
