{JO|SO}Paladin made for himself of his clan a skin pack, entitled "{JO|SO}Paladin" (surprisingly). It contains a white skin of Broli's rather strange "Advent Children Cloud" -- those Final Fantasy writers need to come up with better names -- and team-supported skins of the Cultist model. Although the author attempted to include bot support, he didn't include all of the necessary files for it.
White and weird, the Cloud skin is my least favorite. In addition to being somewhat bland due to its plain white clothing and indescript symbol on the front and back, the original model's hair really bugs me. His head looks like a porcupine being rendered in a really old game. I never understood that style of drawing characters whose hair, often strangely colored, consists of blobs of spikiness. But what also annoyed me were the skin's eyes, which lack a necessary shader to make them more interesting; without one, all I see is just a red paint dot on each eye.
The Cultist skins are more interesting, but still fail to appeal to me. I like many of the individual textures on the Cultists, but all of them together in such a fashion is tacky. Such complex textures need to be used more sparingly; otherwise, it looks visually over-complicated.
I can, however, comment that at least the skinner knows how to create nice textures and knows how to apply them to each individual area well -- it just doesn't look good as a whole. The skinner next time should spend less time trying to make each texture individually sophisticated but instead concentrate on how it will all turn out in the end; I see no clear purpose in the skins. If that's just the way Paladin likes it though, they otherwise look fine.
