KashT-228 created by Immenor was designed for a recent map contest. The contest itself had specific perameters two of which were, the map had to be within a certain size, and the mapper could only use 10 textures.
Now, on to the map itself. This map is set on a moon built by miners. The actual structure of the map has three levels with lifts, stairs, and walkways connecting them in various sections of the map. The layout is really nice making for good game play, especially guns which I sooo can see playin on this. Before i forget, I wanted to comment on the music. It's Star Wars themed, but his choice was a good one. While checking this map out, I found myself moving faster and faster with the music lol.
Immenor did some impressive detail work in this map, one look at the screenshots will show ya that. It's always impressive to see a mapper put under restrictions, and still be able to produce somthing so good. I'd say my favorite part of the map.. well.. theres two. Outside in the cavern area was cool. The contrast from the mechanical/tech interior, and then stepping out into green grass with rain really added to the maps atmosphere. And.. yes lol.. I really liked the purple fog.
The fps here was not that bad. I ranged from 25 -60.. but mainly in the upper 50's. If you have a old machine, you may have some issues, but everyone else should be ok. With the detail work, moving parts, and other effects, the author must have done some nice hint work at the minimum.
Nice work Immenor! I can't wait to see your next map. This is one I will be keeping.

I earlier had another dark metal texture called Steel, but it brought me up to 11 textures, so, as I hurried to finish the map I replaced the steel texture with a duplicate of the basemetal4 texture so that I wouldnt have to find the 1000 places where I had applyed the Steel texture. =================================================== When I started the contest, I had no clue what I should create... I had tried thinking of many things but never managed to grasp anything substantial. First I came up with the name KashT. Then the rest slowly fell into place in till I had a good theme to build on. Heres the story behind the map: KashT-228 is the code name for a moon. The moon was inhabited by miners recently, and they built a facility into the rocky surface of the moon. First they dug down in, and created a layer of buildings below the surface, then they slowly dug up creating canyons of rock leading down into the facility. Recently however after a great storm hit the moon and large amounts of the facility was abandoned, and the glass shielding the insides from the continues rain was smashed in. =================================================== CREDITS: Credit to Lindsey, for getting me the very nice rock texture. Credit to the makers of Halo Soundtrack, for the music. Credit to Bungie for making the textures in Halo, I used 3 in this map. The lightpanels, the floor, and the metal walls. =================================================== BUGS: The frame rate can be a bit iffy, especially in the middle of the map.
