-_-; Well the master's still a bit shocked, so I'll have to do another review...worse yet he didn't prepare anything for me =_=;
Regardless, we're presented with a "Mysteries of the Sith" vehicle known as Mara Jade's "Shrike." A rather boxy vessel, it lands and takes off in the over-the-top style. This particular vessel seems to use its wings' fins for what the Master referred to as a "kickstand." What he's talking about, I've no clue.
In its flight form, the vessel looks slightly more appealing, but I must say that it looks like a box with wings regardless. If that was the original design, I will not intervene with my opinion. Most concerning is how it is only armed with laser cannons. I do not see how this would last long in battle.
Regardless, the master bids no ill will to it, so it will not be harmed. A well-constructed vessel overall.
*hears something disturbing* =_o; Excuse me..
*********************************** Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy *********************************** TITLE: Mara Jade's Shrike AUTHOR: Inyri Forge E-MAIL: firstname.lastname@example.org FILENAME: shrike_if.pk3 DATE RELEASED: April 2007 BUILD TIME: Several Weeks ------------ MODEL SPECS ------------ Total Verts: 780 Total Tris : 568 Custom EFX: Yes Custom Animations: Yes Custom Sounds: No Custom Reticle: Yes -------- CREDITS -------- Hm, credits... LucasArts, for Mysteries of the Sith (awesome game, whatever anyone says... they lie if they say evil things about it -- LIE I tell you). Also credits to my beta testers. You know who you are! -------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS -------------------------- Dump this is your gamedata/base directory within your Jedi Academy directory. ------------ DESCRIPTION ------------ I don't expect a lot of people to know what this is or appreciate it, but those of you who *do* know what it is should enjoy it. This is the Shrike, Mara Jade's starfighter as seen in the Jedi Knight expansion Mysteries of the Sith. It's an Alpha-52 starfighter, loaned to her by Talon Karrde. I've tried to keep it accurate to the original model (check it out on wookieepedia if you aren't sure what it's supposed to look like) but I did take some slight liberties with the texture where original detail was hard to see and/or my 'accuracy' made it look dumb. ---------------------- VEHICLE SPAWN INFORMATION ---------------------- The command to spawn the Shrike is as follows: npc spawn vehicle shrike ----- BUGS ----- No bugs that I've found so far. --------- COMMENTS --------- This is my first animated model. Because it uses a custom 's-foils' animation, there is a 'bug' with hyperspace sequences. I didn't place this under bugs because it's no *actually* a bug, it's just a problem with how the game is set up. Because the animation sequence was designed for s-foils, the wings revert back to their landed position during hyperspace sequences (because the game thinks they're simply s-foils, which they're not). It's minor. This ship is also a lot larger than the stock fighters. This is because the stock fighters available with the game are tiny. I debated whether to scale the Shrike or have it be realistically sized, and in the end I chose the latter. In reality, it would be comparable in size to an X-wing. ------------------- DISTRIBUTION NOTES ------------------- You may use this modification in mods as long as this read-me is included in your archive, unaltered, and appropriate credit is given.
