My review of the first version of this map:
Mos Espa Slave Quarters is a bit like a teaser trailer for a movie, but for a Total Conversion mod. This is a map that can be played as an FFA, but is best suited for dueling. You won't find any secrets in this map or any weapons or any pickups of any kind. The FPS was just fine in this map. I have to give several sided sid credit for actually sticking with this design. The repetition of the small quarters would drive me insane. But it looks great.
You won't find bot support or any new textures here. The music is something you may have heard before if you're familiar with several sided sid's work. Nice job here, Sid. I look forward to seeing more maps by you.
Y'know, I didn't think that this map could be improved, and I'm still not sure if it was or not. My FPS was fine in both versions, and it still looks great. I did see one new area added to this map and the lighting there is just beautiful. You'll also find bot support added to this final version of Mos Espa Slave Quarters. In my opinion, this map is best enjoyed as a Powerduel map. Great work, Sid!

Friday 27th August 2004 final Thursday 13th January 2005 ================================================================ I BUILT ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING IN THE MAP COMPLETELY FROM SCRATCH. NOW EMPLOY ME! (PLEASE) ================================================================ NOTES : Well, if you've seen this before you'll notice the differences. This map started life as one small part of a much larger Mos Espa map which I was asked to build for The Phantom Menace Total Conversion project being compiled by [JEDI] Adam of jkmods.com. / ModsHosting.com. Not sure what the future is for that project right this moment, so the single player map changed direction and is due out (soon) as a colossal Free For All, revealing as much of the Outskirts of the Spaceport and its visiting vehicles as the software can handle! My Slave Quarters have changed quite a lot since the other releases, so I wanted everyone to see what I've been up to coz I hardly ever get the time to play online and talk to people - too busy mapping. Hopefully this gives you a little bit of a clue as to what to expect... ;) ================================================================ Thanks to : Well... there's [JEDI] Adam of course - without whom, this whole map and the much larger Outskirts map would never have occurred. This map has sprung from his invitation and nothing else. Then there's Sith-J-Cull - for his endless patience and advice, and for hosting me as Guest Mapper on his site! Also LivingDeadJedi for advice and testing whenever needed. Plus Sathiron for his priceless hints and all the other friends I've made in the mapping world. Of course Mr. George Lucas, plus everyone else who made this possible, including the people who developed the software - and Di for putting up with it! Not forgetting my kids Amy and Adam for their priceless beta testing. (((And of course [MAD]Pharen for his music... again...))) It's funny how this music fits in so well with this map when in fact it was mixed for my Mos Eisley Meanstreets map. It's a mixture of good and evil tunes and reflects the anger born in Vader from so innocent a setting. ================================================================ * Play Information * New Sounds : YES (Thanks to [MAD]Pharen) New Textures : YES (a couple) New Skins : NO New Objects : NO (unless you include everything I've built) ================================================================ * Construction * Brush Count : 3620 Entity Count : 123 Software used : GtkRadiant v 1.4 Known Bugs : none Build Time : about 5 or 6 weeks ================================================================ * How to use this map * Put the .pk3 file in your base directory.
