I have an external subwoofer. Nice piece of work, it is. Just for kicks, even though the read-me says that there may be some 'crackling', I turned my subwoofer's volume all the way up... just for hoots and giggles. I find it incredibly amusing when the windows shake just from a lightsaber swing :p
So after listening to a random smattering of these 'new' sounds, I'm guessing the author took a bunch of sounds and increased the bass. I must admit... I'm a fan of bass. And this really is no easy task. Sure, boosting the bass of a single audio file is a cinch, but boosting the bass of all of these was probably the most boring tedious thing ever. I've done stuff like this - it's a pain. However the result is what you're after, so if you're a fan of window-rattling sounds these may be an improvement for the better.
I like these because it gives a little tweaking to the original sounds, but nothing so drastically different that they don't sound right. But seriously, if you have a good subwoofer and you're not looking to change the original sounds too much, download this and see if it floats your boat. I think I'm going to keep it, just for all the good trinket-rattling action going on in this room!

*********************************** Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy *********************************** TITLE: NAB622 sounds mod AUTHOR: <OV>NAB622 E-MAIL: [email protected] WEBSITE: www.freewebs.com/nab622_files CREDITS: This mod was made entirely by me, but I only edited the sounds that the game already had. Also, since I like the 'new weapons' mod so much, I made this sound enhancement compatible with the tenloss DX-R6 and the portable missile system mods as well. You can get those mods separately at: http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/New_Weapon_Effects_and_Swoops;21173 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: All you do is download this file, and then take the contents out of the zip file and put them into your base folder (found in the JK3 directory and then going to GameData/base) DESCRIPTION: All this file does is edit some of the sounds. I got tired of hearing the same thing over and over and over again and again and again (you get the idea)! Anyway, if that sounds like you, download this file and give it a try! BUGS: If your computer has an external subwoofer, this may cause a little crackling on it. To fix this, simply turn the subwoofer volume down. Internal subwoofers do not matter because they are integral to the computer and cannot get very loud.
