This is the third and seemingly final version of the Night Scout, a reskin of Monsoontide's Scout Trooper model. A quick quote from the version two review:
The textures have been lightened, and are now more of a greenish color, fitting in well with the author's initial idea of a sewery scout trooper. After all, someone has to go down there! Biggest problem with the execution of this skin is it's trying to make an environmental effect on a flat texture. The entire reason there are environmental shaders are for this purpose - reflections move, and because they don't on this skin it looks more like someone heated up his plastic armor and swirled it around a bit, then let it cool and harden. An environmental shader would go immense lengths here to make this reflected look actually work for the model.
In this version we have also been graced with team skins, which basically turn the black underlying cloth bits blue or red, depending on which team you use. Sounds are included, but once again do not function because the sounds.cfg file is pointing to the wrong folder. NPC and bot support have also been included, but the bot support was created using bots.txt so it is very likely to screw up the rest of your bots. Keep in mind for the future that bots should be done using a .bot file and a .jkb personality file, not a .jkb and bots.txt.
There have been some marked improvements in this version, most prominently being the included environment shader. This gives the skin its shimmery appearance that you might expect, rather than just trying to emulate it with flat textures. Team skins are also a little different than they were before, actually coloring the armor rather than the cloth beneath. Sounds still won't work, which is a shame, and the bot support has also been broken (it should be .bot, not .bots).
Overall, definitely not a bad update. Fixes some errors, and while not perfect is should be an interesting change to the scout trooper model. Definitely give it a look if you're a scout trooper enthusiast.

Imperial Biker Scout at dusk in a not so waterly enviroment. mark 3 and final (i hope) ================================================================= Well after the slating i got for this reskin (as well as my own stupiditly for not finishing the skin). here is verion 3 with npc and bot supportthat works with out screwing up the rest of the bots :), along with team colours and a new shader! There are two normal versions one for a waterly enviroment and one for the sewer map i'm finishing at the moment (with thanks to darthnorman and shadowstone for their help) Thanks to those of you that pointed me in the right directions you know who you are. Having been 16 years old when the return of the Jedi was released I always thought that these troopers should have been in all the films, as they looked great!!!!!!!!! But alas they only appeared in the 3rd movie until the Revenge of the Sith and then they where animated! But enough of this dribble and on to the main write up. As I haven’t seen what the model looks like yet I’m writing this blind, but if the jpeg image is anything to go on then I like it and that’s all that counts and if anyone downloads it then woohoo! What I tried to create was an effect of light reflecting off water in a sewer, that’s why it’s the skin is so dark, But as there are no sewer maps yet (until I learn how to use radiant) that’s why it a night scout. Yes I know you have asked people not send their first skins in but I couldn’t resist doing this because I won’t to see my son’s face when (if) it gets placed on the web site. I have only been playing this game for six months after retiring and have only just learnt to do this as I have loads of time on my hands there may be more so I apologise for that now. So now off to see if this works, and learn how to do do screenshots haha!
