File Description

After years of living in the desert on Tatooine, you can imagine Obi-Wan’s lightsaber got a bit battered and beaten, and that is exactly how it appeared in Episode 4, when the world was introduced to Star Wars. But have you ever wondered what it looked like when it was shiny and new? Well wonder no longer, because here we have an excellent recreation of Obi-Wan’s Episode 4 lightsaber, as new, made by Dantrag_tc!

This is really high quality work, and all the authentic details are here, right down to that strange ring od small dots that are around the emitter tip of the lightsaber. The model itself looks to have a pretty high poly count, though I am not really versed in such things. This means though that the detail is crisp and clean.

A bonus of this file is that the saber can also be used in Single Player. Though as the author states in the readme, there may be some problems (the game may crash) if you try to use two of these sabers in duel wield or with very detailed playermodels because of the high poly count.

All in all though excellent work here, this is definitely of the highest quality. Keep up the good work Dantrag_tc, I look forward to seeing more from you!

TITLE: Obi-Wan Episode 4 lightsaber New Version
AUTHOR: Dantrag_tc
E-MAIL: Nighteyes_60@hotmail.com

FILENAMES: Obiwan_ep4_saber.pk3
File Size : 1459kb
Version: 1.0

DATE RELEASED: January 30th, 2009

INSTALLATION: Extract the .pk3-file to the gamedata/base folder of your Jedi Academy directory.

UNINSTALLATION: Remove the .pk3 from your base-folder

DESCRIPTION: This is a replica of the custom collectible version of Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber
from episode 4. The collectible version was made to represent how Obi-Wan's saber looked like as a
brand new saber. There are two versions of this collectible, one that has a fully chrome emitter and
another that has black metal added to the top of the emitter, I chose to go with the latter.

==================================================================

HOW TO USE:

Open the console and activate cheats in sp by typing "Helpusobi 1" (Remove the quotation marks)

Then type "saber single_14" to use the sword.

KNOWN BUGS:

- This should work in SP with most models, however when I tried to use this sword when using
Toshi's Anakin or Vader as my playermodel, it crashed the game and I got the usual ran out of
transformspace for Ghoul2-models-error. The polygon count isn't so high with this saber, but Toshi's
newest work is simply a bit too highpoly for SP, they inadvertetly cause problems with many sabers and
other weapons.
- Might crash SP if you try to dual-wield two of these sabers but can be dual-wielded with some
other weapons (again it depends on the other weapons and playermodels you use, for example some lightsabers from Revan Dark's Star Wars Hilt-pack
for example have too much detail in them, so they cause problems).
- Other bugs not known yet
