This saber mod is actually kind of amusing. The author wanted to make it clear that this mod is for novelty purposes only:
I saw a request for novelty sabers, so here's one. If you try to use this online, that could basically be construed as cheating. This is a novelty saber, to be used for a few minutes of fun. There is no challenge with these, but it's funny for a few minutes.
Aside from that, it was somewhat amusing. I'm quite used to the crotchsaber by now, though, which is usually caused by a mistake in saber tags. However since this mod doesn't actually have a model I'm assuming it's caused by adding an additional six saber blades which have no tags ;).
View the screenshots and decide for yourself whether it's something you want to download or not. I'd definitely download it for a laugh, if for nothing else.
**************************** Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy **************************** TITLE: saber_dikodoum AUTHOR: Unknown_Sith E-Mail: firstname.lastname@example.org WEBSITE: N/A FILENAME: saber_dikodoum.pk3 FILESIZE:539 bytes DATE RELEASED: 30 June 2005 CREDITS: Thanks to Quigon007 for his "zoog" sabers, which first got me interested in this stuff. And of course, all the folks at Raven, LucasArts, and ActiVision. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Unzip the pk3 file into your GameData/base directory. DESCRIPTION: An insanely long saber, with interestingly placed blades. BUGS: On several maps, the saber glow causes the entire map to glow that same color as the saber. (All sabers do this, but it's on a much smaller scale.) On some machines, it will cause all sabers but this one to dissapear from the menu. To fix this, just delete the saber_dikodoum.pk3 from your base directory. On a very few instances, this saber caused some minor sound bugs, but this was a result of them trying to play the "saber in the wall" sound for the entire length of the saber. However, none of these except the saber glow (which is supposed to happen) occured with this version on my machine. So they probably won't on yours either. Just remember, if they do, then merely delete the pk3. COMMENTS: I saw a request for novelty sabers, so here's one. If you try to use this online, that could basically be construed as cheating. This is a novelty saber, to be used for a few minutes of fun. There is no challenge with these, but it's funny for a few minutes. I suggest using these as dual sabers, one in each hand, which gives you the (false) impression of invulnerability. For something really weird, try duelling someone else with dikodoums. You can be across the map from them, and suddenly die. On the other hand, the same thing could happen to them too. If any of you want to modify these or use them for, say, a bot, GO FOR IT!
