Well, here we have an elegant little saber. It's rather small and aesthetically pleasing, design-wise, and the shaders on it are good.
Well first off there's the model, which is small, but it's designed that way. I like the way that it tapers down at the bottom. It makes the saber look elegant. Okay, let's not do small talk. I like the whole design. Now let's move on the the interesting part - the shader!
There's actually a rather funny (well, not really funny) story about the shaders. Inyri custom-made a chrome shader for this, and then had a really hard time getting it to work in-game. But here we have it, in it's glory.
There are two versions of this saber, a regular chrome version, and one that's trimmed with electrum. While I really wouldn't use this, it still looks really cool.
*********************************** Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy *********************************** TITLE: Slipstream AUTHOR: Inyri Forge E-MAIL: firstname.lastname@example.org FILENAME: slipstream_if.pk3 FILESIZE: 300kb DATE RELEASED: 17 June 2006 BUILD TIME: Longer than necessary -------- CREDITS -------- Credits to Luukesabers, the owner of whom bought the original hilt on ebay and posted pictures on thelightsaber.com. Of course credits to that ebay seller, whoever he is, as well. And many credits to Shiney from the forums who requested I make this hilt (and because Shiney was so polite I was more than happy to oblige). -------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS -------------------------- Dump this is your gamedata/base directory within your Jedi Academy directory. ------------ DESCRIPTION ------------ It's a saber hilt with a more sleek look to it. Smaller, it would probably look best as dual, but works fine as a single. There are two versions - one which is completely chrome, and one which is trimmed with electrum. The chrome shader used on these hilts has been tailored specifically to the hilts, because I found the default chrome shader to be inadequate. ---------------------- SPAWN INFORMATION ---------------------- To use Slipstream in SP, use the following command: saber slipstream To use Slipstrem Gold in SP, use the following command: saber slipstream_gold ----- BUGS ----- No real bugs to speak of, that I'm aware of. --------- COMMENTS --------- While this took me *forever* to make, due to modder's ADD, busy-ness with my FileFront duties, and random gaming, it was really quite fun to make and I'm happy with how it turned out. It's really a neat-looking hilt. You should sooo hear about the shader problems I had. Hoooo boy were they a pain...! ------------------- DISTRIBUTION NOTES ------------------- You may not redistribute this file or any material contained within in any form without my express permission.
