Swoop Ultra has an update! Yay! I won't bore eveyone with a new review for a couple of changes, but to put things shortly the swoop now works as it's supposed to, and has a couple of tweaks which are covered in the read-me. I'm not sure why you can spawn it as swoop_mp and swoop_ultra (seems like a waste of an overwrite to me), but it works as it's supposed to which is the important part.
This is a reskin of the swoop bike. It is a simple recolor of the black variant, turning it kind of a pinkish purple color. While simple, it still looks very snazzy, although there are several places where the overlaid color overlaps a section it's not supposed to, so a little more attention to detail would be better next time. You probably won't notice that, though.
There are a couple of problems with this mod. Firstly, it has the same bug the regular swoop does in MP - no texture! If I had to guess the reason for this, I would guess it is because the VEH file for the swoop is set up differently than swoop_mp, leading me to believe the SP engine is capable of something the MP engine isn't. This also explains why they bothered making an MP specific swoop variant. So it is my assumption that unless you tweak the VEH file, you're going to get the good ol' textureless swoop. To fix that, open the .VEH file with notepad and change the skin line to just say "ultra" rather than "ultra|blah|blah|etc". I assume MP can't handle that kind of string, and it surprises me that the author didn't double check that before submitting. In any case, though, it's an easy fix, and even without the fix you could still play with this skin in SP with no problems.
If you hadn't guessed by now, there's also a mistake in the read-me. It says to spawn the swoop, use "/npc spawn vehicle swoop_ultra". Well, it won't take you long to figure out "swoop_ultra" doesn't exist as a vehicle. In fact, the author here overwrote the original swoop, so you'll need to use "/npc spawn vehicle swoop" to get this bike, and the normal swoop is kaput as a result.
In short, you can feel free to use this for SP, or you can fix the VEH file and use it in MP. Hopefully a v2 fix will be put out to make it not overwrite, and fix the VEH file, because even despite the simplicity of this skin it's got a really great look and it's a shame that it's not 100% functional.
