Well, Inyri has decided to release her Tidus Weapons Pack. This contains six weapons from the game Final Fantasy Ten, which I personally haven't played. But then again, I don't get away from Jedi Academy that much.
These are very well done, and it looks as if a lot of detail has gone into them.Apparently, the Brotherhood sword is a water elemental sword, and as such, Inyri has tried to give it a watery effect with a shader, complete with bubble sounds! While the effect isn't all that great, it's due to the limitations within the game.
Also, according to the readme, there are two different versions of the Brotherhood and the Lightning Steel swords, one for Multiplayer, and one for singleplayer. The sabers are not selectable in the Singleplayer saber menu, which would have been nice. But hey, cool swords. my favorite sword is Twilight Steel.
This is definitely a must for Final Fantasy Ten lovers.
*********************************** Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy *********************************** TITLE: Tidus Weapons Pack AUTHOR: Inyri Forge E-MAIL: [email protected] FILENAME: tidus_swords.pk3 FILESIZE: 750kb mb DATE RELEASED: 18 February 2005 BUILD TIME: About .5-1 day each, so... 3-6 days. -------- CREDITS -------- Thanks to everyone. Does that cover things? ;) Okay, okay. Thanks to Square Enix (you'll always be SquareSoft to me), and thanks to everyone who rooted me on in the Tidus model thread. Y'all rock. -------------------------- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS -------------------------- Put tidus_swords.pk3 in your gamedata/base directory within your Jedi Academy directory. ------------ DESCRIPTION ------------ This pack contains six weapons featured in the PS2 game Final Fantasy X, all of which were wielded by the main character, Tidus. ---------------------- SPAWN INFORMATION ---------------------- Due to Raven's idiocy, a couple of these swords (the Brotherhood and the Lightning Steel) have two versions - one specifically for single-player and one specifically for multi-player. No, I did not add SP menu support, but you can still spawn the swords in SP with the following commands: Twilight Steel: saber twisteel Guardian: saber guardian Tidus's Longsword: saber tlongsword Brotherhood: saber brotherhood Lightning Steel: saber ltgsteel Caladbolg: saber caladbolg ----- BUGS ----- There are several, although only one is anything *I've* done. That "bug" would be that I left a sword out: the variable steel. My PS2 doesn't work and there just aren't any adequate images of it on the net that I can find so you'll have to go without. The other two bugs are thanks to Raven. The hand tags were designed for lightsabers, and it doesn't really matter how a saber's rotated, so when using dual sabers the left hand sword will be slightly rotated. Thank you Raven! Also as I mentioned there are MP/SP versions for two swords. This is because the effects coordinates function differently in SP and MP. If you use the same EFX file your effect will be sideways in one and fine in the other, so multiple versions are required. Use an MP version in SP and you'll see what I mean. I do think that's it, though! --------- COMMENTS --------- This pack was designed for release with a Tidus model, but I got tired of waiting for him to finish that so I'm releasing it now. Shady, you're still more than welcome to include this with the model if you want ;). ------------------- DISTRIBUTION NOTES ------------------- You may not redistribute this file or any material contained within in any form without my express permission. If permission is given, this read-me must be included. It's not like I bite, so don't be afraid to ask. I'm not going to say 'no' unless your mod is a complete disgrace to the world, and there aren't many of those out there ;) THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY ACTIVISION, RAVEN, OR LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY LLC.
