Y'know, I think I'm going to ask this for a poll question this week: What are we most lacking in the mod community? Maps? Models? Skins? I think I'd have to vote for SP mods or SP maps. Sometimes you just want to play through one or two levels of some single player action, but you crave a new story and some new action. While the Tournament of Ieyasu doesn't really have a story, and it really just plays as a ladder, it's still nice to have something, y'know?
The lighting was a bit too dark, I thought. Your opponents aren't all that difficult, but they should keep you busy for a while. It's supposed to be a tournament with no force, but like, the NPC's s cheat and use force on you. Anyway, it's a fun little SP campaign that should satisfy you until another one comes out. :)
13th May 2004 ================================================================ Tournament of Ieyasu Version: 1.0 Author : Simon "Kengo" Williams Email Address : email@example.com Website URL : www.map-review.com ================================================================ Long ago, in a time near forgotten, the Jedi Order numbered in the thousands. One man particularly respected and feared for his skills was a Jedi named Ieyasu. It was said none could equal him in combat with a lightsaber, and it was he who founded the tournament on Kai. Use of the force for attack is not allowed, lightsabers are set to a non lethal setting through careful manipulation of their crystals. Any man who can wield a saber, Jedi or not, can enter the tournament and try to prove their skills. This year, I have travelled to Kai to participate... ================================================================ Voice Actor: Richard Purnell as The Narrator ================================================================ Menu Adaptations by Leslie Judge Character Selection: Go the NEW in the menu to begin the level. You can either choose to keep the settings for your Jaden from Jedi Academy by going to START NOW. Or you can create a new character using the character selection system. Think carefully about the saber style you choose, you will face opponents of varying styles in the Tournament of Ieyasu. ================================================================ NPCs created using NPC Tool created by Leslie Judge and Kal El (You can get it here: http://www.pcgamemods.com/5253/) Beta Testing: Leslie Judge ================================================================ Music: 'Titan' performed by Snyder, written by Daniel Wilkes (AKA Thrawn42689) Original Star Wars music composed by John Williams ================================================================ Additional Thanks to the following sites: http://www.echonetwork.net http://www.commandchamber.net http://www.pcgamemods.com http://www.massassi.net http://www.jediknight.net http://www.starwars.com Additional Thanks to everyone who offered help, ideas or support Special Thanks: Mercenary (AKA Spirit_In_Black) Leslie Judge Richard Purnell GothiX Rgoer Raven LucasArts George Lucas ================================================================ To launch: I like to have my projects load as mods, as it means they can be kept in the Gamedata folder and you don't need to remove them when you want to play something else. However, this does not work 100% for some reason. If you use the Base method, you will get objectives, working level descriptions and working end credits. If you use the mod method, you don't have to worry about the pk3 file playing around with the JA game - as the Base method will change JA from the moment you load it up. If you use the Base method and want to play JA normally or with another mod, you must simply move it from the base folder, you don't have to delete it outright. Base method: 1) Unzip tournament_ieyasu.zip 2) Copy the tournament_ieyasu.pk3 to your Base folder. (example: C:\Program Files\Lucas Arts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\Base) 3) Launch "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" (Single Player) 4) Click "New" 5) Select a character or go to "Start Now" if you wish to use your Jaden from JA Mod method: 1) Unzip tournament_ieyasu.zip 2) Copy the contents of the zip file to a folder in your "gamedata" directory, name the folder "Tournament" (example: C:\Program Files\Lucas Arts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData) 3) Launch "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" (Single Player) 4) Click on "Setup" --> Mods" 5) Select Tournament and click "load mod" 6) Click "New" 7) Select a character or go to "Start Now" if you wish to use your Jaden from JA ================================================================ Software used : GTKRadiant, BehavEd, NPC Tool, IrfanView, Goldwave, Adobe ImageReady ================================================================ * Copyright / Permissions * THIS IS NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY LLC.
