The DMC 4 craze resurfaces in the form of the one known as Vergil's weapon, Yamato.
I looked at some references of the weapon; accuracy-wise, it looks almost dead on like Yamato from the game. No need to worry about that factor. Size, I must let you all be the judge on.
Everything looks well in order for this weapon, except for one tiny thing, which could warrant a 1.1 at least: The bounce sounds till sound like a lightsaber. Makes it sound rather awkward when clashing with your opponent's weapon. Fix that up, and I think we have a winner =_=.
In its current state, however, it is more than ripe for bandwidth submission. Do so as you see fit. =_,=

Readme File: *********************************** Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy *********************************** TITLE: Vergil's katana Yamato AUTHOR: Dantrag_tc E-MAIL: Nighteyes_60@hotmail.com FILENAMES: Yamato_v_1.0.pk3 File Size : 752kb DATE RELEASED: June 17th, 2008 INSTALLATION: Extract the .pk3 to the gamedata/base folder of your Jedi Academy directory. UNINSTALLATION: Remove the .pk3 from your base-folder DESCRIPTION: Vergil's o-katana Yamato from Devil May Cry 4 made for JKA. Due to game engine-limitations it's not 100% accurate but more like my vision of it. ================================================================== HOW TO USE: Open the console and activate cheats in sp by typing "Helpusobi 1" (Remove the quotation marks) Then type "saber yamato" =================================================================== IMPORTANT: - This sword won't show up in the saber selection menu yet, I will add that when I have finished the final skin for the handle as well as when I complete the sheath for the model - Yamato isn't throwable, instead the player will kick. - I will try to add new sounds and new swinging effects for the final version - The sword is a bit larger than your average lightsaber so to compensate the longer reach, I made the sword bounce from walls to add some extra difficulty. You need to aim a bit more if want to hit something ;) KNOWN ISSUES: - Might crash SP if you try to dual-wield two Yamatos. - Other bugs not known yet =================================================================== You can use this model in your own modifications as long as you give proper credit, however if you need the original files, contact me and I will be happy to send them to you. =================================================================== SPECIAL THANKS: For my wife, a devoted DMC-fan, for actually giving me the idea to make this blade and also for making sure that I completed the model. To Lucasarts and Raven for making Jedi Academy. Members of Filefront's JediAcademy-board for helping me with some problems with the model =================================================================== THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY ACTIVISION, RAVEN, OR LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY LLC.
