As it's been several days since he's joined the staff, it's about time to announce this: I'm retiring from the staff, and jonathan7 is signing on to replace me. The reasons would probably offend most of you, so I won't go into them here. Or at least the reasons for my retirement would, the ones for jonathan7 are pretty obvious: He's a good modder, actively involved in the community, and most importantly I know he's dependable. It's been pretty hard in the past to find permanent staff members, but I'm sure he'll stick around. Here's to his joining the staff! I know he'll do great.
To go on a bit further about myself, since that's of course my favorite thing to talk about, I'll be going into a state of semi-retirement as of now. I may still review a few files, as Shem's personal life is pretty hectic at the moment (but then again, whose isn't?) and right now he could use the extra help. After that I'll probably come back if there's a ridiculous number of mods in the inbox, if he's ever on vacation, or for if for whatever reason the site needs some extra assistance. My involvement won't be very regular, though, or even very frequent. For all intents and purposes my OPS account will have been deleted (not that it actually will be, but you get the drift).
I'm also staying around a bit longer to look for another staff member; it's fortunate that jonathan7 was willing to volunteer, but we could use another. If you're interested in applying, just fill out the application here, and I'll give it a look over.
If you are under 16 your application will most likely be ignored. I will be able to tell if you are.
It could be ignored even if you do meet the above criterion, nothing is being guaranteed here. But as it's easier for staff members to come to me than it is for me to come to them, I'm throwing this out anyway. Maybe we'll get a few good volunteers! If not I'll keep up the hunt elsewhere.
And that's pretty much it. Thanks again for stepping up, jonathan!
