Wootwoot, Carter's first mod (?) post his joining of the site staff! Champagne, anyone?
Anyways, it adds Bastila as a selectable head for the PC to wear. And as the readme does acknowledge, it has been done before. I've never been one for ' as selectable head' mods, but I'm glad to see an effort was made to be original in this instance. Apart from adding DS transitions, the head also has some subtle yet distinct differences from Bastila's regular one. Compare it to screens of her default appearance, or just take a closer look at them. Whether it's an improvement or not is subjective, but I'm glad that it's original.
The main quibble I have is with the eyes for the dark side transitions - they're dark to the point you have to look closely to notice any red/organge around the edges. And while the yellow is more noticeable, I'd definitely make it brighter. Either that, or make them dead and lifeless like the default Sith eyes. Anything else doesn't really fit.
Note: Please remember to give the author of the mod feedback, as the download count isn't particularly verbose. Written comments tend to be much more useful and encouraging.

Installation Step 1: Copy all the files in the Images folder to your Override folder. (NOTE: If you have my Class Clothing mod installed, just click OK when it asks you to overwrite the three N_CommF*01 .tga files.) It’s been done before—I know. :P But I’ve never made a new head, so I figured I’d give it a shot. I believe the title says it all; this mod will add a new selectable head, that of Bastila Shan, party member from KotOR I, who has a few brief cameos in KotOR II. You might notice that it isn’t *exactly* Bastila; I’ve taken the liberty to reskin her head a bit. I don’t think it’s all that noticeable unless you compare screenshots. I didn’t feel like doing so. :P Also included are dark side transitions—well, make that transition; instead of the K2 style transitions, Bastila will get Sith eyes, and her skin will become a bit paler. And there are custom portraits, of course, one for LS and one for DS. As for clothes, I stuck with the normal commoner variety; however, Bassie will get a different style depending on her class. If you’ve ever used my Class Clothing mod, you’ll know what I mean (in fact, if you’re still using it, this mod will overwrite a bit of it; don’t be afraid ;)). I was planning to reskin her K1 clothing and use that model for her Jedi robes, but you’ll have to wait for a V2 on that one; I couldn’t quite match each reskin to the right robe, and it’ll take some time to sort things out. Bastila’s underwear is a reskin of the Handmaiden’s, and it has a DS transition as well, to match the paler skin. Ditto for the Dancer’s uniform, which I’ve reskinned to match Bastila’s skin tone. That’s about it, I think. Oh, and before you ask, no, the other Bastilas in the game won’t be headless—I promise. ;) And obviously this mod won’t be compatible with any other Bastila PC mods. Well, there’s a slight chance that it is, but I wouldn’t test that theory if I were you. (I say that it might be because there are two Bastila heads; I’ve used number 1, and it’s quite possible that if someone else used number 0, the mods could be compatible to a degree). Again, don’t test it, and don’t blame me for any problems if you do. :P Enjoy! 3.
