I really think if they had some sort of day rotations with the planets in the Knights of the Old Republic games that people would really love it. I know I would. Unfortunately that isn’t the case and you have to go with the time of day setting given to the planet you visit which in some cases it’s always night there.
In the game Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, you get a chance to visit the moon of Nar Shaddaa and it is always night there. Gabor89 thought it would be a good idea to make the sky boxes give a day time look on the planet. I thought this was a good idea about two years ago and I tried my luck with messing with the skybox and I just couldn’t get it right. Gabor89’s result with the attempt is similar to mine I believe. I don’t have the old work I did anymore, so I can’t really compare, but I do remember losing some picture quality messing with the contrast.
Other issues would include the Bink video. It’s like I’ve said in the past when people have re-skinned the Ebon Hawk that you will have the original looking one during the movies. The other issue that would take a lot of work to change would be the shadows on the buildings along with the lights on them too. It gives the appearance that it is nighttime there.
The thing is if you really don’t like to stop and smell the roses, or in this case you aren’t someone who likes to stop and look at their scenery of the planet they’re visiting, but likes the idea of having a daytime looking background, this mod will work out well for you. Enjoy! :D
