Droid Planet Mod Patch

droid_patch.rar —

Description

Seems like today is patch and update day. Updates are good. It takes a good mod and makes it better; in the case of this mod patch update, this being the case. Darth Shan has made an update for his Droid Planet mod for the sequel game, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. You do have to have that mod downloaded since this is a patch mod. If for some reason you didn’t notice it in our recent mod list, or overlooked the fact that it’s now usually in the top 20 in our weekly download charts, or are just too lazy to click back to find it, you can click on the link here. Read the review and readme for that mod to find out more of what it is about.

One of the fixes this patch does is fix the door that appears and disappears in the central area. The author changed it so it is always open to correct the issue some people were having. He also added a modules.2da file that will add some autosaves when switching modules to help any crashing between changing modules and just load the new module you’re trying to go to just in case you have to boot up your game again. There’s also a video patch. Instructions on how to make it work is in the readme under the video patch folder. It’s easy to follow so don’t stress over that if you did. :p

Make sure you after you install the original release to allow the new scripts in this patch override the old ones in the override folder. There is also a new file that goes in the modules folder that will override the original. Enjoy the patch with the great mod! :D

Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

A KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC II: (THE SITH LORDS) MODIFICATION

FILENAME: droid_patch.rar
FILE SIZE: 85 KB

DESCRIPTION:
It has been a question of time for some issues to show up. Luckily, all of these seem to be minor or rare ones.
1. There is a door in the central area which sometimes shows up and sometimes does not. I think this has to do with performance issues: The better the PC the higher the probability to get stuck at this place. I changed the utd.file, so that the door is always open. Remember: the area transitions is way ahead BEFORE the door, you do not need to go through it.
2. I edited "modulesaves.2da" to get automatic saves and include dialogue-tlk references. This may fix some issues with savegames not loading properly.
3. I included a small video patch, so that you are treated to two movies before you arrive at the landing platform. THIS REQUIRES SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS included in the folder "Video Patch".
4. Two updated scripts to prevent multiple spawing of the same NPC.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Drop the module 802DRO.mod into the "MOdules" folder. Put the rest into the Override folder.
Read the special instructions for the video patch. If you are too impatient to read instructions, then I recommend that you do not use this patch and this mod altogether.

COMPATIBILITIES
The same as for the original mod. With one exception: "modulesave.2da" is compatible with Combat Arena, Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Tomb of Azgath N'Dul and my own Story Enhancements. However, if you use this file, overwriting the one from the Combat Arena, this will result in bad text for savegame reference with the Arena. You could use Kotor Tool's 2da-editor to update the string reference for the Arena Mod. Since it uses the TSL Patcher, everyone has to do it him-/herself. In any case, this should not affect playing the Arena Mod in any respect.

COMMENTS:
There are some weird issues happening to some players: Doors not opening, savegames which do not load, problems in talking to your party members while staying on the droid planet. First of all: Save early, save often.

These module files were hacked from the XBox, so there may be inconsistencies with the PC version of the game. I do not believe that it is of any use to dig deeper into this issue. The mod works properly for many people on many system configurations, but not for all. This mod requires the English dialogue.tlk in your game directory; and if you have the original module files installed, delete them before playing this mod.

Second: Read the included Readmes. But let me use the opportunity to restate this: The planet DOES NOT show up on the galaxy map. It doesn't do it for several purposes, for instance, M4-78 is suitable only for high level PC's, because the areas with their waves of opponents are not balanced. That is why you have to accomplish a mini-quest before going there, ensuring you have completed at least two out of four planets.

I put a walkthrough into this patch for everyone who has got stuck. If you want to play the droid planet only and not the complete game, then use the warp cheat (warp 801dro) and then have at it.
