Remember what you thought at first when you saw the HK-50 units in Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords? For me I was thrown off a little and it made me wonder more than ever to what happened to our beloved HK-47.
Let’s move to the moment in the game Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords shortly after you meet up with Bao-Dur and he’s helping you through the Telos Restoration Zone. Later you get to the Military Base and as you make your way through that, you find a malfunctioning HK-50 unit. You have the opportunity to repair it and it follows you. Shortly after that, it explodes.
Robespierre brings us a mod that allows you to loot the corpse of the malfunctioning HK-50 unit. There will be two items that you can get from it; one is HK-47’s Assassin’s Rifle and the other is a plat you can put on HK-47 once you repair him that will make him look like an HK-50 unit – though I wouldn’t tell HK-47 that as we all know how he feels about the durasteel color of the HK-50 units. :p Enjoy! :D
Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.
1. Outline All this mod does is add three new items to the damaged HK-50 that you encounter in the Telos Military Base on the surface of Telos; a Droid Assassin's rifle, some Droid Modular Plating Mark I and a new item called "HK-50 plates". The plates have some melee defense feats and have a disguise property that make HK-47 look like an HK-50 droid. 2. Some instructions/technical information All you need to do is put these files in your Kotor 2: TSL override folder (ignore the "source" folder here, its just for those that are interested in how I made the mod). The HK-50 plates have some feats attached to them, but I didn't think they were too unbalanced. If you think they are, well, you can change them yourself. The "d_hk47_01" is a Droid Assassin's rifle that was in-game, but it mis-spelt "Assassin's" as "Assasin's". While that's a bit pedantic, I'm a little bit of a perfectionist :P. You can also get the plates by typing in "giveitem hk50_plates" into the console (without the ""), if you don't want to go back to Telos to get them. I didn't use the TSLPatcher as there is nothing that should cause a problem. If there is, contact me and I'll help you. 3. Conclusion CaptainLivewire for convincing me to release the mod (as minor as it may be). JCarter426 for steering me onto the right track :D. Fred Tetra for the Kotor Tool. If you want to use the mod yourself in any way, shape or form, feel free to do so, but I want to be informed about it first. I'll most likely say yes, but I want to know beforehand. Well, that's all from me. If you have any questions/comments/queries/tirades of abuse, just contact me on LucasForums. I go by the username "Robespierre".
