lightsaber_on_off_switch_v11.0.rar —
HouseOfAmon brings us something totally cool for us to play with. Ever wanted to just turn your lightsaber on and have it stay on and turn off when you want it too? Traditionally in both Knights of the Old Republic games, you can hit the X button on your keyboard and have your lightsaber turn on and be in attack position. Eventually the lightsaber would turn off after a few seconds. If there are people out there that want to be able to just turn on your lightsaber and off on command, this mod is for you.
As some of you know, I have made some new saber glow textures for both KOTOR games. My latest version has screenshots up close to the blades to get a sense of what they look like. I had trouble, especially when I was trying to get screenshots for TSL having the lightsaber just stay on. I had to do some tricks and even then they were not always consistent when I was switching blade colors to take a new screenshot. This mod would have been very handy for me back when I made them in January. I also like the sense of having the lightsaber on and just standing there with it just before going into battle, like you’re waiting for your opponent like Darth Vader did when he was waiting for Obi-Wan Kenobi to show up when they fought on the Death Star in Star Wars: A New Hope.
To use this mod after you install it, you will need to spawn a .uti file to play with it by either using the KSE (Save Game Editor) or if you have your cheats activated and by typing...
giveitem saberswitch
It’s not an equipable item, it just needs to be in your inventory for it to work. It’s in the slot where you can activate shields in your in game menu bar at the bottom of your screen. You can either click on it, or hit the number 6 on your keyboard for it to work. Make sure it’s visible on your menu bar (the screenshot shows you how). As you can see in the screenshot there is no icon for it. It’s just a white box. This is what happens when an item has no icon. It’s no big deal, just information to those who will wonder why that is when trying it out. The author did try to get an icon, but couldn’t figure out how to do it. It maybe impossible, so don’t ask for one. ;)
When I tested this mod, it seemed to only work with your PC, not your party members. I switched to both of the party members I was using and hit the activate button and it would just turn on and off the PC’s lightsaber. Sometimes it will delay, or you may have to hit the activate button a couple of times or so to get it to respond, especially if you turn your lightsaber on and off really quick. There needs to be a delay in time for it to respond properly. I also tested it with all lightsaber types (double, single, short), and carrying dual sabers and it all worked.
This mod uses the TSL Patcher for easy installation since it does need to merge three different .2da files. This mod totally rocks. Enjoy! :D
Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

===================================== LightSaber On/Off Switch v1.0 ===================================== Author: Smoke Description: ========= This mod allow's you to turn your lightsaber on & off at will..... It will remain on, till you switch it off... Mod Details: ========== In order for the mod to work you must spawn the on/off switch to your inventory... Or use the Kotor Save Game Editor... Spawn Code: GiveItem SaberSwitch Note: The use of the flourish command while the blade is on will cause the saber to deactivate as it normally would after you perform a flourish. Note: The item is missing an icon, there was nothing I could do about this, I tried, I even asked around at Holowan Labs, no one seemed to know how to do this... Sorry about that,.. I hated to release it like this, but it was that or not release it all.. :( Last Words: ========= I know this is kinda useless, but it just add's to the game to be able to power on/off your saber when you feel like it, I like it least.. Might be good for making some cool screenies, or if your like me, you may just feel like listening to the hum of your lightsaber.. :)
