When I played the sequel to 2003’s game of the year, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, for the first time ever starting my game on December 7, 2004, I picked the 2nd Caucasian male head option, even though the texture files have it labeled like it’s the 6th option.

Saskei makes his KOTOR FileFront debut (the author has a history on JKFiles) with a mod that gives a new skin to the 2nd male head option. What has changed is the sandy blonde hair into really dark brown. The author added a beard to it. Now it’s really hard to tell, but the new hair color does have texture on the head and face, but you really have to look at because it's hard to see it. My advice would be to maybe either lighten the hair up so you can see the hair textures, or somehow add more texture to the hair while keeping the really darken look because I know some people will say it if I don’t. I do like fullness of the beard and the style chosen.

The author did make custom portraits to match the new head option and it does have work done on the dark side transitions for you dark side lovers out there. The hair doesn’t start to go gray as you turn to the dark side, which is a plus from my end. The author also made his own custom Sith eyes. The mod is an overall great addition to the site. Enjoy! :D

1: What it does:

This mod edits the skin and portrait for one of the male heads in Kotor II for the PC.  The blonde haired, blue eyed head to be exact.  It changes his hair color to a very dark brownish/black, as well as adds a beard/facial hair of the same color.  This also edits the portrait to correspond with the changes.  This updated version, also includes the dark side transitions and new portaits for for them.

In this latest update, I have recolored the faces slightly, as well as the portraits, making the lightside (or starting appearance) have more brownish hair, than black, and then it steadily turns darker to essentially black, as his skin becomes more pale if he goes down the Dark path.

2: What it doesn't do:

This mod does not add any new content or unbalance the game in anyway shape or form.   As stated above, all it does is simply change the cosmetic appearance of one of the existing heads in the unaltered game.

3: What will it do:

This is an (another) update of my first mod, adding the dark side transitions of the character head, and the corresponding portraits.  This update further recolers the faces, to make distinguishing between the transitions a bit more visible, while still not resorting to the "walking corpse" style of Dark Side people that Obsidian seemed so fond of, and no one else (myself included did)  Unless I ever decide to make the textures simply more aesthetically pleasing (like I did in this update) it will not change any further.

4: Installation:

 Simply extract the files into your Override folder in your Kotor II directory.  The most common pathway is: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2.  If you do not have an override folder, then make one, and put the files in.

If for some reason extracting the files to the Override folder does not work, then extract them to your desktop, and place them in manually.

If you already have the previous version of this mod installed, just let the files overwrite the old ones.

5: De-Installation: 

Simply delete the files from your Override folder.  It should be quite easy to do.  However, if you have a ton of mods installed, it may be hard to find them(if you don't have them organized with say Kotor Mod Manager, or are just simply organized as is).  If that is the case, I recommend you extract them to your desktop as if you were going to install them manually, then place them in the override folder, and let them overwrite the already existing files.  When it's done, the files will be selected for you to easily relocate to the trash bin, or wherever you plan to put them.

6: Bugs/Issues/Conflicts:

Shouldn't be any problems at all.  The only thing it won't work with, is another mod that alters the same head as this one, in that case, just pick and choose which one you want more.

This was my first attempt at modding for the Kotor Series, and I have to say, it may not be perfect, and I do not claim that it is, but I think I did OK for a first time, at least in my opinion.  

Btw, in case you're wondering I never released versions 1.0 or 1.1 since they were incomplete after I decided to add DS transitions, so I just waited until I finished before uploading, to reduce confusion.

1) Obsidian Entertainment, Lucas Arts, (etc...) are not responsible and/or do not vouch for this modifaction.  It is unnofficially produced by a fan (me) for others to use for fun.

2) You are free to alter and modify these files all you want for your own personal use.
