File Description

Now this was an interesting mod review. Only because it was the first time I ever reviewed a music mod. Talking about the details of a mod like this can be difficult because you are describing sound, not images, not stats of an item, etc. I have to tell you that this mod sent in by Torthane is a good one. It’s a mod that has music composed by Justin R. Durban. I have never heard of this person or the music he has composed before and to tell you the truth, my first impression of this mod while I was waiting for it to finish downloading to listen to the music wasn’t exactly positive. I really like the music in TSL, so the idea of replacing it didn’t set well with me. I wasn’t thinking a person with an open mind is the best way to describe it.

So after I finished downloaded it for my review and started listening to it, I had a change of heart about my original feelings. To actually get a real feel of this mod, I would have to actually play with it in the game and go through it entirety. The hours it would take for me to actually do that would be too much and the author would wonder why it’s taking so long for the file to get up. The great thing about having such a great knowledge of TSL is that I know the game well enough that the numbers on the music files tells me what module a certain piece of music goes to. So I actually took the time to imagine myself in a particular module based on the music piece, while waiting for it to upload to the site for downloading because that did take some time to do. I did that for the area themes and then imagined myself in combat in particular modules each piece of music would cover. To tell you the truth, sometimes I got major chills go up my back when I visualized myself in combat in certain areas of the game knowing a particular piece of music is being played in a particular part of the game.

After hearing each piece of music, I don’t know which one is my favorite yet since I liked so many different ones. That should tell you that the music overall will be a good mod. At least I think so.

Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

Thank you for downloading my music mod for Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lord.
I hope you enjoy it!

***Installation instructions: This could get a little tricky but bear with me.***

Step 1: go to the 'streamsounds' folder located in your Kotor II main game folder and move the following files into a
 backup folder.
 The files are titled:
  mus_sbat_000.wav
  mus_sbat_260.wav
  mus_sbat_400.wav
  mus_sbat_800.wav
  mus_sbat_100.wav
  mus_sbat_300.wav
  mus_sbat_500.wav
  mus_sbat_900.wav
  mus_sbat_200.wav
  mus_sbat_303.wav
  mus_sbat_600.wav
  mus_sbat_230.wav
  mus_sbat_351.wav
  mus_sbat_700.wav
  mus_sbat_final.wav

Step 2: once you have those files moved to a backup folder make sure the origanals in the 'streamsounds' folder are gone.
Now you have done the hardest part of the install. Now backup the entire 'streammusic' folder and delete the original.

Step 3: now move the 'streammusic' folder included with this mod into your main Kotor II folder.

Step 4: start up Kotor II and enjoy the excellent new music.
