Though very rare in the Knights of the Old Republic as I discovered over three years ago when I first learned how to mod the game, sound mods have been very popular downloads so you would think others would have tried their attempts. New sound additions to replace default sounds can really enhance and add enjoyment playing a video game.
Oddball_E8 makes his FileFront debut to add new types of sounds into the first Knights of the Old Republic game. It can be hard to describe what you’re getting in new sounds, but I can tell you that most of them are different from any of the sound mods I’ve ever released, so if you’re looking for something new again or haven’t tried one out yet, you could give this a try.
What you will get is some new blaster sounds, close combat sounds, grenade sounds, impact sounds, and lightsaber sounds.
One of the highlights of the new lightsaber sounds are the new clash sounds and you have Count Dooku’s lightsaber on sound when he first turned his lightsaber on to fight Obi-Wan Kenobi at the Geonosis hangar (the rest of the time Dooku’s lightsaber made the traditional Sith on sound).
The grenade sounds really sound like loud explosions, so if you’re looking at having something that sounds like it gave a big hurt, you may want to look into this. The new sword sounds really have loud impact sounds that really make the combat sound intense. The blaster sounds are interesting enough; my favorite has to be the second power blast shot; very cool.
If you’re whining and crying already that this mod was released for the first Knights of the Old Republic game, fear not. This mod can be installed into Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords and the sounds will work there too. Hopefully people will read the review and not jump the gun on questions. Enjoy the new sound mod! :D

Title : BigBadSoundmod Author : Oddball_E8 e-mail : [email protected] date : 2007-11-28 Description :this here is a little mod i threw together for KotOR (but it works for TSL too) that changes alot of the sounds... more so than any other soundmod ive seen out there (including my old ones) heres a short list (of sorts) of what ive changed: all blaster sounds... all saber sounds except twirling (for this i suggest the "ultimate soundmod" by shem) impact sounds for blasters alot of the fighting sounds for swords and unarmed (blocking, impact, swing etc.) some of the grenades (frag, plasma, stun and thermal) and some misc. sounds Installation :just put all the sounds in your override folder (without using the folders i have included, they are just there for easy pickin') Compatability :this should work with any other mod that doesnt change these exact sounds... Terms of use :since most of the sounds in this file arent made by me, you'll have to ask the original authors of those sounds if you want to use them... but if you want to use the grenades sounds go ahead, theyre mine. any other sounds that are not mine or credited in the "credits to" part are grabbed from the net in general and quite free to use...
